The doctor opens up about Rishabh Pant’s recovery
Last December, Rishabh Pant suffered a terrible road accident. Since then, the Indian wicketkeeper is under treatment in the hospital. In addition to intensive treatment, he also underwent two surgeries. But now there is no chance for him to recover fully. It will take a long time. The doctor in charge of Pant’s treatment said that he may not play this year.
It is known that it will take at least another 8-9 months for him to fully recover. In that case, he will miss big events like Asia Cup and ODI World Cup at home. The hospital authority said, “From the time Pant will be able to walk, his rehabilitation process will begin. But initially, he will have to walk with the help of crutches. Later he will be able to walk normally.”
The doctors also said, “The recovery depends on Pant. Because the more pain he can bear, the faster he can recover. But what is alarming is that the wicketkeeper has two ligaments damaged. He has torn both ligaments. As a result, the level of injury is also high. It will take more time to recover.”
Regarding Pant’s return to the field, the doctors also said that it usually takes 6-9 months to recover if such a ligament is torn. Even after this time, the doctors see how his condition is, everything will be checked and then he will be allowed to play. However, how quickly one recovers from this injury depends a lot on the skill of the doctor and the success of his surgery.
However, whatever time it takes for Pant to recover or delay his return to the field, all the salary money will go into his account. Even if he does not play in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), he will get the full contract amount from Delhi Capitals. Apart from this, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) will also give Pant the contract money for the national team. The BCCI confirmed this a few days ago.
