Mashrafe doesn’t want to play in the national team even though he is in rhythm in the BPL

If you say the name of the most successful captain or the most successful pacer in the history of Bangladesh cricket, the name of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza comes first. During his two-decade-long international career, he had to undergo numerous surgeries due to injuries. But he did not give up. Played again, brought victory for Bangladesh. However, Mashrafe is not playing in the national team, this cricketer is in great form in this year’s BPL.

Mashrafe is getting regular success with the ball in this year’s BPL. He is leading Sylhet Strikers. Just as his team is at the top of the points table, Mashrafe’s name is also at the top of the wicket takers. That is why cricket lovers want to see him again in the national team. But Mashrafe is clear, he has no desire to play in the national team again.

Although he has left T20, he has not said goodbye to ODI yet. Mashrafe wore the jersey of the national team for the last time in 2020 amid off form. He did not even receive a guard of honor in that farewell match. Mashrafe has put up the red-green jersey because he is proud of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Of course, he does not want such a farewell for anyone else. He requested a honorable farewell for Shakib Al Hasan.

While talking to the media during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Mashrafe said, “I want the cricketers to leave with dignity. Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Shakib are the legends of our country. They have worked hard for the country. They deserve respect while leaving.” Let everyone know that farewells are done with honor in Bangladesh too.”

“I never expected anything from anyone. I never expected to get anything from the board. I do what I like to do when I like to do it. I do the same on the field. It is my happiness, my love. Don’t think about leaving. Honestly, if asked a thousand times, I’d say, “I expect nothing.”

In the current season of BPL, there are less star cricketers compared to other seasons.. The reason behind this is the simultaneous start of franchise leagues in multiple countries. BPL could not attract foreign stars on par with South Africa’s SAT20, United Arab Emirates’ International T20 League. Pakistani cricketers will also not be available at the end of the tournament.

Although there are no stars from other countries except Pakistan in this year’s BPL. Star cricketers like Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik and Iftekhar Ahmed graced the tournament. However, BPL is going to lose them at the end of the tournament. They are supposed to leave BPL to play Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Pakistan’s biggest domestic tournament PSL is going to start from February 13. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not sparing efforts to take this league to the top in terms of quality and discipline. And for this reason, they are preparing the cricketers in advance. Ten days before the start of the tournament, the cricketers have been ordered to leave the BPL and return to their country.

According to a Pakistani media report, the PCB has instructed the players to return home. Basically, the players have been asked to start preparing in advance, to strengthen and adapt to the weather. In that case, Pakistanis can leave Bangladesh before February 2. And it is conceivable that BPL will lose color.

However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) already knew about this foreign star crisis of BPL. The board leaders became helpless to resolve the crisis. Because, BPL has not been able to compete with other leagues. SAT20 or International T20 League, money is everywhere. Compared to that, the Bangladesh league is much behind.

As time goes on, cricket is also becoming more modern. As the artistry of the bat-ball is increasing, so are the tactics of the game and the way the team is managed. Many countries around the world are now appointing separate coaches for red ball and white ball. Even in terms of party composition, major countries are showing differences. Kapil Dev wants separate teams for India in three formats.

According to Kapil, there are a lot of players being developed in India and they are not getting enough playing opportunities. For this reason, the former World Cup winning captain suggested the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) make three separate teams in international cricket. He asked to give freedom to the voters to work. Kapil also criticized Chetan Sharma for his strange decisions.

While suggesting the formation of separate teams for the three formats, Kapil said the matter is entirely up to the selectors. He said, “BCCI should give the selectors an opportunity to work as they wish. Let them form the team according to their own plans. But I think, the performing cricketers should get a chance. In this case, there will be separate teams in the three formats.”

Kapil also spoke about the immediate exclusion of cricketers from the team. Ishaan Kishan has been drawn as a reference by the Indian legend. Kapil also said, “A team should be formed which will play for a certain period. But 2-3 players can be changed. But it is not acceptable to perform well in one match and not play in the next match.I don’t quite understand it. “

It should be noted that the ODI World Cup will be held in India this year. BCCI is moving forward with planning ahead of this event. Former cricketers are advising the Indian board on various issues. However, what Kapil suggested was to play the same team and bring out the performance. Whether the board heeds that suggestion remains to be seen.

Top cricketers from different countries can be seen in IPL, BPL, Big Bash leagues. But as India’s top cricketers are not allowed to play for franchises in foreign countries, they are not seen playing in any franchise league other than the Indian Premier League (IPL). This time the former Indian national team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni can play in South African franchise SA T20. League commissioner Graeme Smith wants him in the South African franchise. Dhoni is no longer banned as he retires from international cricket.

Even though he retired from international cricket, Dhoni continued to play in the IPL. According to the BCCI agreement, Dhoni cannot play for any outside franchise even if he plays domestic cricket in the country. Accordingly, Dhoni is not allowed to play in SA20 if he plays IPL. He can play in the South African league only after saying goodbye to this domestic league. But Smith has not given up hope of getting Dhoni yet.

In the press conference, Smith said, “There is no cricketer like Dhoni.

If he plays in the tournament, his value increases many times. It is great to have a cricketer like him in any tournament. We are going to create a competitive cricket league. If someone like Dhoni plays in this league, it will be great for us. SAT Twenty League will also increase in importance. He is a legend of cricket, playing cricket at this level for so many years he is enriching the game. In his career, he has performed consistently and won the team, leading India to the World Cup. If any opportunity arises to get Dhoni, I will definitely contact Dhoni. I am not giving up hope of getting him. “

There are reasons  not to give up hope of getting Dhoni. Six teams of South African franchises are owned by Indians. The Indian IPL franchise owners also own this South African franchise. In this context, Smith also said, “Board of India organizes such tournaments brilliantly, we have a very good relationship with the BCCI. They have experience in doing big tournaments like IPL successfully. So we always want to have a good relationship with the BCCI. We are trying to give cricket fans a great tournament from our side.”

It should be noted that Mahendra Singh Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020. Now the former Indian captain plays only for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. There were earlier rumors that Dhoni could play for the South African franchise. But he could not play because of the BCCI rules. Time will tell if Dhoni will finally play according to Smith’s wishes.
