What Shakib said after being eliminated from BPL

In the current season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Fortune Barisal has played powerful cricket from the beginning. The star-studded team has ruled equally with bat and ball. As expected, Barisal, led by Shakib Al Hasan, went first to the playoffs of the tournament. But Shakib’s run stopped in the eliminator match. They lost to Rangpur Riders by 4 wickets.

Reacting after the match, the Barisal captain said, “We were in a good position till 15 overs. But we couldn’t score runs in the last five overs. We were 10-15 runs short. If the team’s runs were 180-190, things could have been different. We fought. But the thing didn’t happen what I wanted.”

Meanwhile, Shamim Hossain Patwari played the biggest role for Rangpur in defeating the Shakibs. This young batsman won the man of the match. After the win, Shamim said, “I was confident, I can do it. But it would have been better to finish the innings with a win. The wicket was good. I was also hungry for runs. I want to play like this in the next match too.”

Inzamam wants to be Pakistan’s selector again

Inzamam was appointed as Pakistan’s chief selector in April 2016. The term was till 31 July 2019. But he then informed the board about his unwillingness to renew the contract. He said, “I have served on the Pakistan National Selection Committee before. If I get the opportunity to do this again, I will consider the matter.”
