Linde grew up watching Shakib
George Linde has come to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time. The South African all-rounder is playing for Sylhet Strikers. But despite playing for Sylhet, Lind looked at Fortune Barisal. More specifically, his focus is on Shakib Al Hasan. Linde even said that he grew up in cricket by watching Shakib’s game.
Recently, Linde spoke to the media on the sidelines of the BPL game. While playing in Bangladesh for the first time, this Protea cricketer expressed his feelings. He also talked about his favorite player, Idol. Shakib is one of Lind’s favorite players. This all-rounder dreams and aspires to become a brilliant cricketer like him.
Linde said, “It’s good to come to BPL. Coming here, the league seems tough. I know a lot of players. I follow a lot of people. I like Shakib in Bangladesh. I grew up watching him from the beginning. I always try to follow him. I want to be a cricketer like that.”
Appreciating Shakib’s cricketing knowledge, Linde added, “Shakib is a very big cricketer. There is not much to say about him. Apart from his bat-ball skills, one thing I like about him is his brain. He can take the right decisions at the right time on the field. The line of thought seems so perfect. As I am an all-rounder myself, I will benefit from following him.”
Note that Linde has played 3 Tests, 2 ODIs and 14 T20 matches in South Africa’s jersey so far. Where he scored a total of 273 runs in three formats. There are no fifty-run innings in international cricket. He also hunted with the ball, a total of 27 wickets in three formats. But the 31-year-old all-rounder is still confident of playing well.
