Liton Das has nothing to say about the ‘discount’ issue

Liton Das is one of the best batsmen in Bangladesh. He is loved by cricket experts for his beautiful batting style. But he had a very bad time. He had to fight for a single run. Tried to find himself after losing him. At one time ‘discounts’ were also given on his runs by trolling. But now this best batsman of Bangladesh does not want to say anything about that ‘discount’.

The ninth season of BPL ended a few days ago. His team Comilla Victorians won the title for the fourth time in BPL. Comilla Victorians beat Sylhet Strikers to become champions. And Liton’s role in winning the title was much greater. He played a great innings of 55 runs from 39 balls in the final match. Not only in the final match, but in the entire tournament, his bat laughed. He is the fourth highest run scorer in BPL. He scored 379 runs in 12 matches at an average of 31.58 and at a strike rate of 129.35.

But looking back a little, it can be seen how bad a time he had. Let’s consider T20 World Cup in 2021. At that time, before a Bangladesh match against the West Indies, an e-commerce platform in Bangladesh announced a ‘discount’ in Liton’s name. The ad, titled ‘Liton Offer’, announced that the more runs Liton will score against the West Indies, the greater the discount on the product will be found.

And Liton will not forget that. He was reminded of that after his brilliant performance in the BPL. It was asked if he wanted to give any message to them. Liton replied, “No, no, I don’t have a message for them. I don’t have anything to say about it. It’s purely their personal matter.”

Liton wants everyone’s support. In the interview, he said, “I always want people to support us. When you put a tag next to your name, you have both the good and the bad. You can’t exclude either one. And it’s no different for me. But I try to do well. To contribute for the country. To give my best on the field.”

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will face England at home in March. The Tigers will play a three-match ODI and T20 series. Liton has thoughts about this series. But he said that he will try to do well here as well. And Liton’s supporters also want Liton to play well, let Bangladesh shine.

Deepak Chahar returns to IPL recovering from injury

Indian national team pacer Deepak Chahar was out of the field for almost a year due to injury. Could not play in the last season of IPL. However, this Indian fast bowler has fully recovered from the injury. Can play in the upcoming season of IPL. He said this himself recently.

This is big news for Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL. Chahar played for Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Even though Chennai did not get him last year, they will get him in this event. The news of his getting fit is known from the Indian media sources. In the interview, Chahar said, “I have had to struggle a lot to overcome the injury. I have worked hard for the last two-three months. And now I am injury free. I am fully fit to play the IPL.”

Chahar has overcome two injuries. At first, he got hurt on his back. After getting recovered from it, he returned to the field. But for the second time he had to fall under the injury. This Indian right-arm pacer injured his hamstring after bowling just 3 overs. And due to two consecutive injuries, he could not play in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. The Indian team also understood his lack. And Chahar had to sweat a lot to overcome those two injuries.

In the interview, Chahar also said, “After the first injury, I became injured before recovering from the first one. I got two big injuries in a row. And it was not easy for me to come out of this injury. Pacers take more time to recover from injuries. It’s not just me, but fast bowlers all over the world. It took us longer to get over the injury than others. But now I’m completely recovered.”

ODI World Cup will be held in India this year. But his chances there depend on his performance in the IPL and Asia Cup before that. Chahar said, “My goal is that whatever I do either batting or bowling, I will give 100 percent on the field. I am not confident in the results here. If I can give my all on the field, then I will get a chance.”

Chahar did not get a chance to play for a long time in the national team. He got hurt again by this time. Chahar made his debut in the Indian team in 2018. Since then, he has played a total of 13 ODIs and 24 T20Is.

Pakistan dishonors domestic coaches?

Pakistan dishonors domestic coaches?

Pakistan dishonors domestic coaches?

Mickey Arthur has joined as the coaching of Pakistan national cricket team. But not directly, online. And there is severe criticism in Pakistan cricket about this. Despite the fact that there are many legendary cricketers in Pakistan, PCB has appointed an online coach. Pakistan’s former fast bowler Sikander Bakht thinks that foreigners are brought as Pakistan’s coaches not respecting the local coaches. He made such a comment in a recent interview.

Pakistani right-arm fast medium bowler Sikandar Bakht played for Pakistan from the late seventies to the mid-eighties. He played 26 Tests and 27 ODIs in Pakistan jersey. He has 67 wickets in Tests and 33 in ODIs. He also worked as a support staff of Pakistan cricket team. And from that experience he can understand the disrespect of Pakistani cricketers towards the native coaches.

In a recent interview Sikandar said, “I once worked with the Pakistan team. Then I got a different experience. Then I briefed a player. He suddenly said, ‘Hey, you yourself have played 26 Tests, I have played 40. And you come to teach me? This is the attitude of Pakistani players.”

Sikandar also said, “Again, these cricketers have a different relationship with foreign coaches. They respect foreigners enough, they fear them. Consider this Mickey Arthur. He has not played a single international match. But there will be no lack of respect in his time, everyone fears him. Because he is a foreigner. For Pakistani cricketers, the place of local coaches and foreign coaches is completely different.”

At one time cricketers like Javed Miandad, Waqar Younis served as Pakistan coach. Citing their example, Sikander Bakht said, “Earlier Pakistan had cricketers like Javed Miandad, Waqar Younis, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq as coaches. But they also struggled to handle the situation. I can mention one. He told me that he prayed day and night that he didn’t have to work with the Pakistan team. It’s really hard work. And for that you have to suffer a lot of mental illness every day.”

It should be noted that Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Wasim Akram has opened up earlier about not coming to the coaching of Pakistan. According to him, coaching the Pakistan team is not only difficult but also courageous. Because Pakistani coaches are not respected, they are abused.

Supporter banned for offering fixing to cricketer

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has banned a supporter for five years for offering spot-fixing to a Zimbabwean cricketer. According to ZC, last year Zimbabwe national team pacer Luc Jungwe was offered spot fixing by a supporter. And because of this, ZC has banned that supporter.

The Harare fan offered to pay a huge sum of money in return for pre-planned bowling. However, the cricketer who played 1 Test, 37 ODIs and 45 T20s for Zimbabwe did not agree to this proposal. Rather, he informed the authorities about it at that time.

A recent statement by Zimbabwe Cricket said, “Edward Walter Mupangano, a 27-year-old Harare supporter, had a trial as a cricketer at a local club. The supporter offered to fix Luke Jangwe on August 4, 2004. He also tried to introduce Jangwe to a bookie from India. He talked about fixing with Jangwe in an international match. And wanted to pay Jangwe 7 thousand US dollars to bowl as they said.”

Not only that, but it is also said from the ZC, Mupangano himself would have benefited from this work. If he bowled as they said, Zangwe would get 7 thousand US dollars, and Mupangano would get 3 thousand US dollars.

And when it came to light, ZC took action against Mupangano. He broke the ICC’s anti-corruption laws. Because of this, ZC has banned him from all kinds of events and cricket venues of ZC for the next five years. And after this incident, Zimbabwe Cricket has requested the Zimbabwean government to consider all forms of corruption in sports, including fixing as crime.

It should be noted that former Zimbabwean captain Brendan Taylor was also offered spot fixing. But because he did not reveal it for a long time, he had to be punished for it. He was banned from cricket for 3 years in January 2022. However, Jangue refused the fixing offer and disclosed it immediately. So he was spared the sentence. He is praised highly.

Smith to play in the American Major League

Steven Smith was supposed to play in America’s Major League Cricket this year. But due to the busyness of international cricket, the Australian star is not playing there this year. However, even if he cannot play in this season, his chances of playing are not ending. According to the Australian media, Smith intends to play in the 2024 season in this American league.

This year, when the American Major League is supposed to be held, Australia has the Ashes schedule. In this crucial series against England, Smith is unlikely to miss the game. That is why he has withdrawn himself from this season of Major League. Smith has already confirmed his unavailability to Samir Mehta, the co-founder of the tournament.

Smith’s issue has been taken positively by the authorities. In this regard, Mehta said, “We are in regular contact with Smith. He has given us his opinion. He is interested in playing in the American league. He wants to help raise the standard of our league by playing here. He is looking forward to working with us. But due to the schedule of the national team, schedule is going to be changed a little bit.”

Despite announcing that he will not play in the American Major League in 2023, Mehta is not giving up hope of getting him in this event. In this context, he also said, “We understand Smith’s busyness. He is an important member of the Australian team. The matter is on our mind. I don’t know now what Australia’s schedule will be like next year. But we hope to get him this year or next year.”

Meanwhile, Smith is currently busy playing the bilateral series against India. This right-handed batsman is also in good form in recent times. In Test format or short format, he is presenting fountains of runs everywhere. The American League wants to get Smith in such form. But it remains to be seen whether the Australian star can play there by reducing the national team’s busyness.
