India vs Australia Team Preview

India

In the first ODI, India did not perform at their best, notably in the early stages of their innings with the bat. They did, however, find a way to win, and we expect them to be too powerful again in this match.

India captain Rohit Sharma is expected to rejoin the squad at the top of the order in Visakhapatnam after missing the first ODI to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding.  He is expected to come in as a direct replacement for Ishan Kishan.

Australia

Australia will be very sad that they lost the match on Friday after being in solid positions in both innings. We anticipate them to be competitive once more in this encounter.

Despite the incredibly humid circumstances on Friday, Australia only batted for 39.5 overs, with Mitchell Starc bowling the most balls in his 9.5-over period. There were no injuries reported, and we do not anticipate any changes in this match.

India vs Australia outfield report

Batting second has won more ODIs at this venue than batting first, and we anticipate that both teams will choose to field first in Sunday’s ODI.

Throughout the game, it will be extremely muggy, with plenty of cloud cover. Rain is very likely to halt the game at some point.

The pitch at Visakhapatnam may provide a bit more for spinners than the one at Wankhede Stadium. Even so, top pace bowlers should still be dangerous on this surface.

Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi (Eliminator 2) – Highlights

In Eliminator 2 of PSL 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Lahore Qalandars pulled off a stunning 4-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi with 7 balls to spare thanks to Mirza Tahir Baig’s brilliant batting style. Along with that, Peshawar Zalmi confirmed their spot in the final match as the 2nd finalist of the tournament.

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. Lahore Qalandars bowled first as a result of that. Peshawar Zalmi collected a fighting score of 171 runs after losing 5 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. In response, Lahore Qalandars reached the port of victory losing 6 wickets in 18.5 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi‘s batters made a good start when they came to bat first. However, the pacer Zaman Khan bowled the opener Saim Ayub (9) in the 3rd ball of the 2nd over of the innings. But the bowlers of Lahore Qalandars could not benefit much from it.  Because for the 2nd wicket, captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris made an impeccable pair of 89 runs off 60 balls. Where they picked up 54 runs in 6 overs of power play. However, Peshawar Zalmi returned to the match with Rashid Khan’s double strikes in the 12th over. Rashid picked up the wickets of Babar (42 runs from 36 balls) on the 3rd ball of the over and Tom-Kohler Cadmore (0) on the 5th ball.

On the other hand, Haris continued to lead the team toward a big total. Bhanuka Rajapaksa gave him worthy company. Finally, Haris returned to the pavilion after being bowled by pacer Shaheen Afridi for the team’s 153 runs in the last ball of the 18th over. He made 85 runs off 54 balls hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes.  However, Rajapaksa remained unbeaten after playing an inning of 25 runs off 18 balls. Because of that, Peshawar Zalmi was able to pick up a fighting score of 171 runs in the end. Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for Lahore Qalandars. Besides, Shaheen Afridi picked up 1 wicket.

Chasing a challenging target of 172 runs, the Lahore Qalandars batsmen were initially under some pressure from the bowling cannons of the Peshawar Zalmi bowlers. They lost opener Fakhar Zaman (6) in the 2nd over of the innings. After that, Ahsan Bhatti got out in the first ball of the 5th over, scoring only 15 runs.

As a result, Lahore Qalandars managed to get 50 runs after losing 2 wickets in 6 overs of power play. In the 9th over, Abdullah Shafique was run out scoring just 10 runs. But opener Mirza Tahir Baig continued to lead the team towards victory by staying firm at the other end of the wicket. Although the team lost wickets regularly, the batsmen did not let the run rate slow down.

Mirza Tahir Baig returned to the pavilion playing the match-winning innings of 54 runs off 42 balls, with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Besides, playing two effective innings, the wicket-keeper batsman, Sam Billings 28 off 21 balls, and Sikandar Raja 23 off 14 balls got departed.

But in the end, thanks to the unbeaten innings of David Wiese (9 runs from 7 balls) and Shaheen Afridi (11 balls from 4 balls), Lahore Qalandars reached the verge of victory with 7 balls remaining. For Peshawar Zalmi, Azmatullah Omarzai took the highest number of 2 wickets and Wahab Riaz, Aamer Jamal, and Salman Irshad took 1 wicket each.

With this, the defending champion Lahore Qalandars reached the final for the second time in a row. On the other hand, another finalist Multan Sultans confirmed the final for the third consecutive time. In the last season too, these two teams met in the final match. Lahore Qalandars won by 42 runs that time. Tonight, again these two teams will enter the field to compete for the title.

India vs Australia (1st ODI)

After winning the Test series against Australia, hosts India also started to show some dominance in the ODI series. India won by 5 wickets with 61 balls to spare in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With that, the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.

Experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja showed outstanding performance in this victory of the team. First, with the ball, he took 2 wickets for 46 runs, and later with the bat he played an unbeaten inning of 45 runs and was selected as the player of the match.

Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss, he decided to field first sending Australia to bat. The visitors ended their innings after scoring 188 runs in 35.4 overs due to the aggressive bowling attack of the Indian bowlers. In reply, host India lost 5 wickets for 83 runs and the match got a bit difficult for them.

However, after that they did not lose any more wickets, Hardik Pandya’s army left the field with the victory with the brilliant batting performances of KL Rahul and Jadeja. India reached the port of victory in 39.5 overs thanks to the pair of 108 runs of these two batsmen in the 6th wicket.

India got their victory on the day with KL Rahul’s stormy performance, who was being heavily criticized due to his bad form. Rahul was dropped from the Test team due to a run drought. He answered the critics well by playing the match-winning innings of 75 runs yesterday.

Chasing down a target of 188 in bowling-friendly conditions at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was not easy for the Men in Blues. Australia got off to a great start with the hands of Mitchell Starc in a condition conducive to pace bowlers. Marcus Stoinis sent back Ishan Kishan initially, who got a chance in place of regular captain Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli, who scored a century in the last Test, could not stay on the wicket this day. Kohli got LBW on an inswinging delivery by Starc. Suryakumar Yadav had a big opportunity that day. But he also failed. He got out on the first ball of this game. Like Kohli, Surya also returned getting undone with lbw.

Losing 3 wickets for the team’s 16 runs, India lost the fourth wicket for 39 runs. Shubman Gill could not score more than 20 runs. Marnus Labuschagne took a brilliant catch at the backward point off Starc. Starc made Australia dream of victory by taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in 6 overs in the first spell.

On the other hand, captain Pandya and Rahul took responsibility for bringing the team back into the match. These two made a partnership of 44 runs for the 5th wicket. However, Pandya’s catch was taken at backward square leg while playing a hook-on Stoinis’ bouncer for 25 runs. Then Jadeja came to the crease who was in great form.

Smith again handed the ball to Starc in the middle overs to break the pair which had become dangerous for Australia. Although this time, Starc could not give Smith a wicket. Australia finally lost the game due to this pair.

Earlier, Mohammed Shami brought down Australia’s batting collapse, which was on the way to a big collection. Smith’s team lost their way in just one spell of 15 balls by Shami. He picked up 3 wickets without giving any runs in these

15 balls. Josh Inglis, Cameron Green, and Stoinis were sent back to the dressing room by this pacer.  All-rounder Jadeja and pacer Mohammed Siraj did the rest of the work. After Jadeja dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Siraj sent Adam Zampa and Sean Abbott back to the pavilion.

All the credit for Australia’s great start goes to Mitchell Marsh. After returning from injury, this cricketer played the innings of 81 runs from 65 balls. David Warner could not play in this match as he was not 100% fit. Another opener, Travis Head, was dismissed early on, but Australia’s brilliant start was not hampered.

Marsh made a pair of 72 runs with captain Smith. Smith returned in a delivery of Pandya after scoring 22 runs off 30 balls. Labuschagne did not get off to a good start in the ODI series either. He left the crease scoring 15 runs. He was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.

Shami and Siraj took 3 wickets each, whereas Jadeja picked up two wickets. These two teams will meet in Visakhapatnam tomorrow in the 2nd match of the series.
