Bangladesh vs Ireland at a glance

  • Ireland suffered a crushing defeat in the series opener and is now on the defensive.
  • Bangladesh has a significant advantage over the visitors due to the bowlers’ form and consistency.

Bangladesh vs Ireland Team Preview

Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s great form from the IT20s against England has continued, and they have been far too powerful for Ireland in this series. It would be a great surprise if they did not win this one-day international.

Mustafizur Rahman, who was out of form, was dropped from Bangladesh’s Eleven for the second ODI, with Hasan Mahmud taking his place. We expect the same squad to be selected for this match because Mahmud did not get a chance to bowl and the batters played exceptionally well.

Ireland

Ireland’s bowlers have had a difficult time thus far in the series against a very powerful Bangladesh batting lineup. If Ireland was to tie the series at 1-1, they will need to produce one of their best ODI performances.

Matthew Humphreys, a 20-year-old left-arm spinner, made his international debut in Monday’s second ODI in place of Gareth Delany, and despite conceding 59 runs from seven overs without taking a wicket, we believe Humphreys to be retained in the team for this match.

Ireland tour of Bangladesh 2023 Cricket Prediction | 3rd ODI: Bangladesh vs Ireland Sylhet International Cricket Stadium

In both games thus far, Ireland has won the toss and elected to bat first. Regardless of who wins the toss ahead of this match, we believe Bangladesh will bat first.

After rain wiped out the first half of the match on Monday, the prognosis for Thursday afternoon is for similar conditions. The humidity is forecast to reach 100% by early evening, and rain is expected throughout the afternoon.

Although there is a turn in this wicket for spinners, the pitch aids faster bowlers, which the overhead circumstances also help with. It’s also a great batting surface, with a good pace but a low bounce.
