Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Match 9) – Highlights

In the ninth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Bengaluru was defeated by Kolkata by an enormous score of 81 runs on Thursday (April 6). The first team to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders, amassed a massive 204 runs while losing 7 wickets. In response, the team of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli was dismissed for 123 runs in 17.4 overs. This was Bengaluru’s first defeat in the IPL this season.

In Mohali for the opening game, they lost to the host Punjab team. But the second game saw Kolkata Knight Riders triumph for the first time at home. In this match, Shardul Thakur was a standout at both bowling and batting. In essence, this bowler used the bat to deliver the first storm to the Bengaluru bowlers. Then he showed his caliber while holding the ball. For his outstanding performance, Shardul Thakur won the award for Man of the Match.

After winning the toss, Bangalore Captain Faf du Plessis made the decision to field and Invited Kolkata skipper Nitish Rana to bat. As soon as Kolkata was given the opportunity to bat, they lost three wickets. Mandeep Singh scored 0 runs, Nitish Rana was out for 1 run, and Venkatesh Iyer scored 3 runs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the Afghan opener, was making a storm at the other end though. He batted stormily, scoring 57 runs on 44 balls. He hit 6 boundaries and 3 sixes. Rinku Singh was also destructive in the middle order. He batted for 46 runs on 33 balls in his innings. He had two boundaries and three sixes. However, Andre Russell entered the game and made a golden duck.

The most storm was started by Shardul Tagore. He batted 68 runs off 29 balls in tremendous, turbulent innings. He hit 3 sixes and 9 boundaries together. Umesh was also undefeated with six runs. In the end, KKR scored 204 runs while suffering 7 wicket losses and 23 runs extra.

For Bangalore, David Willey and Kran Sharma each claimed two wickets. Harshal Patel, Michael Bracewell, and Mohammad Siraj each claimed one wicket.

In response, Kolkata’s spinners attacked Bangalore’s hitters. 44 runs were made in the opening pair by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Bengaluru had an opportunity, but it was lost when Sunil Narine bowled Kohli in the fifth over of the game. For 21 off 18 balls, Kohli was dismissed.

Then Du Plessis was dismissed by Varun Chakaravarthy in the following over. The Protea batter scored 23 runs off 12 balls, including 2 sixes and 2 fours. After that, Maxwell, Harshal Patel, or Shahbaz Ahmed didn’t help Michael Bracewell after he attempted to take charge of the game. They are directed to the dressing room by Varun and Narin. Bracewell also departed the crease after scoring 19 runs off 18 balls.

In the end, Suyash Sharma’s spin prevailed over Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat, and Karn Sharma. Akash Deep eventually played brief, stormy innings of 17 runs off of 8 balls, but it was ineffective. After scoring 20 runs off 20 balls, David Willey showed some resiliency against the Bengal bowlers. Bangalore’s innings were so over after scoring 123 runs.

In 3.4 overs, Varun took 4 wickets for only 15 runs. Suyash claimed three wickets, while Narine claimed two. When there were three spinners on the field, pacer Shardul only took one wicket.

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Team Preview

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians rely on their key players to deliver, and if they do, Chennai Super Kings will struggle to keep up. Mumbai Indians are expected to play considerably more competitively in this encounter.

Mumbai Indians will have scrutinized their performance after being soundly defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Some of their most experienced players struggled, and we do not expect them to be pulled from the squad at this early point of the season.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings is a talented team that has struggled for consistency over the last year. However, there were several encouraging indicators in their victory in Match 6.

There are already requests for Ben Stokes to be dropped from the team after scoring seven and eight runs in his first two innings this season. He is known for his big-game performances; thus it would be surprising if he was left out of this match.

IPL 2023 Cricket Prediction | Match 12: Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Wankhede Stadium Mumbai

In the tournament so far, no team has won the toss and has been asked to bat first in each match. We anticipate that both teams will want to take the field first in this game.

We predict some cloud cover in Mumbai during this evening’s game. The humidity level is expected to remain relatively constant from start to finish.

This venue always has some aid for the bowling sides. In the 2022 IPL, the par first innings score at Wankhede Stadium was only 164.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka at a glance

  • In the final match of the series, New Zealand’s two crucial batsmen will be Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell.
  • Maheesh Theekshana has an economy of just 5 in this T20I series and is one to keep an eye on.
  • Fast bowler Adam Milne’s 5-26 spell in the second T20I broke Sri Lanka’s back. This match’s spell will be worth watching.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka Team Preview

New Zealand

Despite taking the 1st T20I to the Super Over thanks to a late over blitz by Rachin Ravindra, New Zealand’s performance was below standard. However, in the 2nd match, they remedied their errors and checked all the boxes. After putting Sri Lanka in, they bowled them out for 141, a below-par score on a fantastic Dunedin pitch. The visitors were unable to cope with Adam Milne’s blistering career-best performance of 5-26, while opener Tim Seifert blasted his way to spectacular innings of 79* off 43 balls.

New Zealand bats deep, and with Seifert in such good form, their batting appears to be even more dangerous. The bedrocks of the middle order are Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell, and we expect one of them to play a critical role in the finale. The bowling of New Zealand was put to the test in the first T20I, but they fared considerably better in Dunedin. Of course, Milne was the standout performer, but Ben Lister (2-26 off 4 overs) bowled an excellent spell as well.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was 122-4 in the 16th over of the second T20I, aiming to achieve more than 160. However, they lost their next six wickets for only 19 runs, a collapse that cost them the match and may cost them the series.

Kusal Perera has been the most consistent batsman for Sri Lanka in this series, scoring 53* (45 balls) and 35 (32 balls). Charith Asalanka, whose 67 off 41 balls delivered Sri Lanka an impressive total of 196-5 in the first game, will be the batter to watch. Wanindu Hasaranga, the star leg-spinner, will be the man to watch in the bowling department. He can turn the game in one over as a wicket-taker. Maheesh Theekshana, off-spinner, has been outstanding in the Powerplay overs, keeping things tight with his line and lengths.

Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand 2023 Cricket Prediction | 3rd T20I: New Zealand vs Sri LankaJohn Davies Oval Queenstown

The team that wins the toss is expected to bat first, as is customary in T20 contests these days.

For the time being, there is no chance of rain, and the playing conditions will be pleasant. Temperatures will hover around 25 degrees Celsius.

The John Davies Oval will host its first international T20 match. This surface has a grassy tinge to it. This means that the wicket will benefit faster bowlers far more than spinners. Batsmen must be cautious in the early overs when the ball is new and faster bowlers can extract some pace and movement from the surface.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Preview

Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants began their 2023 season with a thrashing of the Delhi Capitals. Nevertheless, their middle order crumbled under strain in their following game against four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings. Despite the setback, Lucknow Super Giants sits in the top half of the points table with two points from two games.

Quinton de Kock may be seen beginning the batting innings for LSG alongside Kyle Mayers now that the South African International stars have all returned to their separate teams following the conclusion of their ODI series against the Netherlands. This might result in Captain – KL Rahul entering the game with a 1-0 deficit. Furthermore, with the slow bowlers’ assistance, Amit Mishra could be included in the starting Lineup. As a result, the club may decide to enhance its bowling unit by sacrificing one extra batsman.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, faced the Rajasthan Royals in their first game of the 2023 season. The former champions were defeated by 72 runs despite the absence of luminaries such as Markram, Marco Jansen, and Klaassen.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will finally have their players ready for Match 10 – Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Marco Jansen. With all of these players returning from international duty, SRH will attempt to improve their batting order as well as play bowlers who can make greater use of the ball in the middle overs with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Fazalhaq Farroqi. Mayank Markande might make his IPL 2023 debut as an impact substitute, with spinners being the better threat in Lucknow.

Slow bowlers will be the trump card on this surface, while batsmen must find their stride before striking. The batter can utilize the raw pace of the quick bowlers to score boundaries.

The weather at Lukcnow will is ideal for a terrific game of cricket. While the temperatures will be around 25 degrees, there is no possibility of rain.

The Lucknow venue has lots to offer bowlers and can even delight viewers with a low-scoring match. This will persuade both captains to bowl first.
