Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings Team Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have already endured tremendous triumphs and crushing defeats this season, but they were far too strong for the Delhi Capitals on Saturday. In this encounter, we predict them to win again at home.

Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga made his IPL 2023 debut after being absent owing to New Zealand vs Sri Lanka series earlier this month. David Willey was left out but will almost certainly play again this season.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were nearly defeated by Rajasthan Royals in their previous match and have been performing well in the competition. However, this will be another difficult competition.

Ben Stokes is expected to be sidelined for 10 days due to a heel injury, and this encounter will be too soon for him to return. In his place, Ajinkya Rahane has been quite excellent, and many observers believe he is a better batting option than Stokes.

Although RCB batted first in their victory at this site on Saturday, we expect both teams to prefer to field first in this encounter.

It will be warm in Bengaluru during the game, with humidity levels forecast to remain below 30% from start to finish.

The surface at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is a decent batting track, and whoever bats first will look to score a total of at least 175. The spinners and quick bowlers, on the other hand, will benefit.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals (Match 20) – Highlights

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have registered a resounding 23-run victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday in the 20th match of IPL 2023. With this, Faf du Plessis’s team got their 2nd victory in the fourth match of the season.

After losing the toss and getting down to bat first, RCB collected a challenging score of 174 runs, losing 6 wickets. The opponent DC’s task seemed easy then. But David Warner’s team could not chase this run either.

While chasing RCB’s run, DC’s top order collapsed once again. Warner and Co. could not turn around from that. In the end, DC scored 151 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Along with that, DC has played five matches in the tournament and has been defeated in all of them so far.

Scoring 209 runs with three fifties in four matches, DC captain Warner has been in great form since the start of the IPL. But Warner’s strike rate is only 116. However, there was an opportunity to increase the strike rate for him yesterday. The ideal venue for scoring quick runs is the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But like every match, DC’s top order collapsed on the day as well.

Prithvi Shaw was run out in the first over of the innings. Mitchell Marsh, who joined the team after his wedding leave, was also dismissed for 0 runs. DC lost the wicket of Yash Dhull (1) in the third over.

DC lost 3 wickets and then scored just 2 runs. After such a start, skipper Warner’s attempt to score quick runs stalled. However, Warner chose to attack every time. But he could not stay on the wickets for long. Warner was dismissed for 19 runs off 13 balls by Vijaykumar Vyshak, the debutant pacer for RCB.

Losing 4 wickets for 30 runs, DC was on the edge of the abyss. From there, Manish Pandey took the team’s run past one hundred by playing an innings of 50 runs from 38 balls. There were 5 fours and 1 six. Also, Axar Patel scored 21 runs and Aman Hakim Khan made 18 runs. In the end, Kuldeep Yadav scored 7 off 6 balls and Anrich Nortje remained unbeaten on 23 runs off 14 balls.

In the end, DC’s innings stopped at 151 after losing 9 wickets. Vijaykumar Vyshak took the maximum number of 3 wickets for RCB. Besides, Mohammed Siraj took 2 wickets and Wayne Parnell, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga took one wicket each.

In the previous match at this venue, RCB lost even after scoring 212 runs. Before coming down to bat in another match yesterday, Virat Kohli and du Plessis must have had the memory of that match in mind. How many runs are safe on this pitch of small boundaries cannot be said with certainty. That’s why captain Du Plessis was trying to hit from the first ball of the innings.

He aimed to use the pace of the DC pacers to score quick runs in the power play. Mustafizur Rahman was in Du Plessis’s blasting line. In the second over of the innings, he left the crease and hit two boundaries. He continued to hit Axar Patel and Mitchell Marsh for fours and sixes. However, the RCB captain returned to the dressing room after scoring 22 runs off 16 balls while playing Marsh.

Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell played at Du Plessis’s pace. Lomror became Marsh’s second victim scoring 26 runs off 18 balls. Maxwell got out off Kuldeep Yadav for 26 playing 14 balls.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli played his natural game from the other end. He made his third fifty in this year’s IPL off 33 balls. After that, however, the innings was not long. He was caught out by Lalit Yadav after scoring 50 runs. There were 6 fours and 1 six in Kohli’s innings with a strike rate of 147. In the end, Shahbaz Ahmed took the score of RCB to 174. This all-rounder was unbeaten on 20 runs from 12 balls.

Mitchell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for DC. Tiger pacer Mustafiz remained wicketless with 41 runs in 3 overs. His economy of 13.70 was the highest among DC bowlers. In the previous match, Mustafiz took 1 wicket with 38 runs in 4 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings (Match 21) – Highlights

In the 21st IPL game, Lucknow Super Giants host Punjab Kings at home on Saturday (April 15). Punjab Kings defeated the hosts Lucknow Super Giants in the final over after Lucknow Super Giants batted first and set a solid goal. In addition, Sikandar Raja received the Man of the Match award for his effective bowling and good batting.

Batting first, Lokesh Rahul, the captain, battled alone for the majority of the innings. The others were powerless to act. Rahul had massive innings, but Lucknow Super Giants fell short of the 160-point mark.

Kyle Myers and Lokesh Rahul were the two openers who began to bat after losing the toss. They scored 53 runs together off 46 balls. In the eighth over, Myers was out for 29 off 23 balls. Then Deepak Hooda returned to the dressing room for 2 runs in the following over.

Rahul and Krunal Pandya then put together a partnership of 48 runs in 35 balls. The 15th over features a double from Kagiso Rabada. Nicholas Pooran returned to the dressing room with a golden duck, and Krunal Pandya was out for 18 runs off 17 balls. Marcus Stoinis was also set, but he was unable to extend the innings (15 off 11 balls). But Lokesh Rahul was fixed on the other side in this player commuting and re-commuting.

With 8 balls remaining in the inning, he was also out. Rahul scored 74 runs in 56 balls while hitting 8 fours and 1 six. Lucknow capital did not rise after Krishnappa Gowtham was replaced as an impact player in place of Kayal Myers. Only 1 run was scored by Krishnappa Gowtham. Ultimately, Lucknow scored 159 runs while taking 20 overs and lost 8 wickets.

For Punjab, Sam Curran claimed 3 wickets for 31 runs in 4 overs. Moreover, Rabada claimed 2 wickets for 34 runs. Each Arshdeep Singh, Sikandar Raja, and Harpreet Brar claimed one wicket.

Shikhar Dhawan, the regular captain, did not play for Punjab against Lucknow. Sam Curran, an English all-rounder, served as interim captain. He seized the initiative and won before leaving the field.

When Punjab first came down to answer the goal of 160 runs, they were in trouble. Between the two openers, Atharva Taide was out for 0 runs. Only 4 runs were scored when Prabashimran Singh was out. Then, with the help of Mathew Short and Harpreet Singh, Punjab made a U-turn. Off 22 balls, Matthew Short scored 34 runs. In 22 balls, Harpreet Singh scored 22 runs.

Sam Karan, the interim captain, was out for 6 runs while Jitesh Sharma was only out for 2. The game was then taken over by Sikandar Raja. He contributed to Punjab Kings’ triumph on Saturday night first with the ball, then with the bat. He scored 57 runs off 41 balls to lead Punjab to victory. The match’s Man of the Match award was also his. With four boundaries, he hit three sixes.

Shahrukh Khan also continued to stay unbeaten with 23 runs off 10 balls. With 7 extra runs in the last minute, Punjab left the field with a victory by 2 wickets.

Mark Wood, Yudhabir Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi claimed two wickets for Lucknow. In addition, Krishnappa Gowtham and Krunal Pandya each claimed one wicket.

  • Both teams will be vying for first place in the point standings as each has dropped just one of their first four games.

  • Gill appears potential, but GT’s initial partnering efforts haven’t been up to snuff.

Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals Team Preview

Gujarat Titans

After suffering a devastating loss against Rinku Singh’s Kolkata Knight Riders, the Gujarat Titans have returned to Ahmedabad. They not only have a strong batting lineup with more depth, but Joshua Little and Alzarri Joseph have made outstanding contributions to their ability to take wickets.

Due to his significant performance in the last game, Mohit Sharma is predicted to earn a spot in the starting Eleven. In addition, David Miller will again offer batting depth alongside Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia.

Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals have won three of their first four games in the campaign, making them one of the favorites to take home the 2023 championship. Also, they defeated MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling match prior to entering Match 23. Apart from Jos Butler, the batting performances haven’t been particularly consistent, which skipper Sanju Samson would like to change as soon as possible.

Riyan Parag was replaced by Devdutt Padikkal in the starting lineup, and he will likely once again warm the bench for the forthcoming match. Trent Boult, a Kiwi pacer, is also most likely to return for Match 23 after an injury, which might force Sandeep Sharma to the bench.

Both sides have a strong attacking lineup with heavy hitters at the top and the bottom. At this location, teams batting second have won more T20 matches, hence both captains would probably choose to bowl first.

There will be sunshine and a peak temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.

It is a balanced pitch, and hitters get more help from the surface. Although historically the pitch has slowed down, batters have recently been able to record some impressive totals.

Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Team Preview

Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians had to wait until the final ball of their third encounter to secure their first win of the season. They do, however, have a plethora of great players who can up their game, and they will be confident going into this encounter.

Jofra Archer was missing the previous two games, the Mumbai Indians have had to rely on their other players to fill the role of attack leader. Tristan Stubbs was left out of the starting XI for the win over the Delhi Capitals, and we expect him to be left out again in this match.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Kolkata Knight Riders were defeated by the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday, but they still demonstrated a lot of character and ability with the bat. They are the type of team that believes in itself till the very end.

Although Kolkata Knight Riders were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring classic on Friday, we would be surprised to see any adjustments. Andre Russell is not fully fit, but he should be in good enough shape to play again.
