Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals (Match 42) – Highlights

Mumbai Indians (MI) made the 1000th match of the IPL memorable. Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, Rajasthan Royals (RR) got a huge capital of 212 runs, relying on the innings of 124 runs by Yashasvi Jaiswal. In chasing, Rohit Sharma’s team crossed the big target of RR with 3 balls remaining in the game and 6 wickets in hand.

Tim David’s three consecutive sixes in the last over ensured the victory for MI. He scored 45 runs off 14 balls. He smashed 2 fours and 5 sixes. Besides, Cameron Green scored 44 runs off 26 balls and Suryakumar Yadav made 55 runs off 29 balls.

RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening pair of Jaiswal and Jos Buttler gave the team a great start coming down to bat. They scored 65 runs in 6 overs of Powerplay. Jaiswal batted aggressively at one end, but Buttler batted quite slowly at the other end.

The team’s two top batsmen Buttler and Samson’s bat did not light up in this match. Buttler returned to the dressing room after scoring 18 runs off 19 balls. Samson could not go far even after opening the account by hitting a 6 in the first ball. He scored 14 runs off 10 balls before being dismissed by Arshad Khan with a catch off Tilak Varma.

Devdutt Padikkal was bowled getting 2 runs. Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmyer, and Dhruv Jurel also did not score well. No other batsman had a good collection in RR’s innings. Jaiswal fought alone when the procession of batters coming and going off at one end continued. He scored his first century in IPL career off 53 balls.

It was the third century of this year’s IPL. Harry Brook and Venkatesh Iyer made the first two centuries of IPL 2023. Even after the century, Jaiswal batted devastatingly. With 16 fours and 8 sixes, he played impeccable 62-ball innings when he got out with just 2 balls left in the innings. In the end, the innings of Royals stopped at 212 after losing 7 wickets.

Arshad Khan took the utmost number of 3 wickets for MI. Besides, Piyush Chawla took 2 wickets and Jofra Archer and Riley Meredith took 1 wicket each.

Chasing a huge target of 213 runs, MI did not get off to a good start at all. Skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 3 runs. However, Ishan Kishan partnered with Cameron Green and scored quick runs in the power play. They scored 58 runs after 6 overs.

However, these two batters returned to the pavilion because of Ravichandran Ashwin. Ishan returned with 28 runs off 23 balls (4 fours) and Green returned with 44 runs off 26 balls (4 fours and 2 sixes). RR signaled a return to the match by dismissing the two set batsmen quickly. But that’s when Suryakumar Yadav shined.

With 8 boundaries and 2 sixes, the 360-degree batsman made the Wankhede stadium crazy. He played some of his trademark shots. He scored fifty off only 24 balls. Then Suryakumar returned to the dressing room after scoring 55 runs off 29 balls with a catch off Sandeep Sharma in the delivery of Trent Boult.

Mumbai needed 72 runs to win in the last 6 overs. But after the return of Suryakumar, MI’s lamp of hope almost went out. However, Tim David and Tilak Varma did not let the wheel of runs getting slow down. Australian cricketer Tim David was playing shots from the beginning of the innings. He scored 45 runs off just 14 balls.

Mumbai was required of 17 runs to win in the last over. David ended the game by hitting three sixes off Holder’s first three balls, where his strike rate was 321.42. With this win, MI has moved up to 7th place in the points table. On the other hand, RR is in 3rd place in the standings after getting defeated in this match.

Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings (Match 41) – Highlights

In the IPL’s 41st game, Chennai Super Kings host Punjab Kings at home on Sunday, April 30. In the game, Chennai Super Kings batted first and produced a respectable total in the allowed 20 overs. In pursuit of the goal, Punjab Kings made it there with the final ball of the allotted over. They exited the field with a four-wicket victory as a result. Besides, Devon Conway’s outstanding batting helped him to win the Man of the Match award.

After losing 4 wickets in the first innings, Chennai Super Kings scored 200 runs. However, Punjab responded by winning on the very last spell despite losing 6 wickets.

Dhoni, the captain of Chennai, chose to bat first after winning the toss. Based on the ferocious performance of New Zealand batsman Devon Conway, the hosts scored 200 runs. The team’s total was 57 when no wickets were lost during the Powerplay. The opening combination scored 86 runs to defeat the opposition and the pair broke when Gaikwad returned with 37 runs off 31 balls. In the tenth over, he was caught out and removed from the field. Moreover, he made 4 fours and 1 six.

Following that, one side continued to lose wickets at regular intervals while Conway was batting on the other side. Conway quickly reached 92 runs off of 52 balls. He had 16 boundaries and one six. The Kiwi opener had a chance to go for a century as well. But that isn’t done anymore. He had to triumphantly depart the arena.

Besides, Shivam Dube made 28 runs off 17 balls. At the very end, the batsmen did not produce many runs. Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja were both out for 10 and 12 runs, respectively. On 13 runs, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was still undefeated. They ultimately established a goal of 201 runs, with 8 extra runs.

For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar, and Sikander Raza each claimed one wicket.

In reply, Shikhar Dhawan and Pravsimran Singh gave Punjab a strong start. In just 4.2 overs, Punjab added 50 runs to their total. Dhawan hit four fours and one six to score 28 runs off 15 balls. In their partnership for the second wicket, Pravsimran and Atharva Taide scored another 31 runs. After being removed by Jadeja, Pravsimran scored 42 runs off 24 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes. Then Taide left after contributing 13 runs as well.

At the crease, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran then created a pair. The pair of two started to glow with victory optimism. But in the team’s 151 runs, Deshpande returned Livingstone as his second victim. With one four and four sixes, he scored 40 runs off just 24 balls. To win, they still needed 50 runs off 25 balls.

Then, Curran also left the team with team’s 170 runs. Before Pathirana bowled him, the English all-rounder had scored 29 runs off 20 balls. Jitesh Sharma then went on a flurry to keep Punjab in the game. With an innings of 21 off 10 balls, he gave Punjab a chance to win the game. He was Deshpande’s third victim after he struck two fours and a six.

Then, Punjab needed 9 runs in the final over of the game after Jitesh left. In the first two balls, Sikandar Raja and Shahrukh Khan each scored a single. Raja failed to score on the third ball. Punjab then had to score 7 runs in the final three balls to win. Raja took two doubles in the next two balls of Pathirana. As a result, the final ball required 3 runs. Then the final ball was sent hard to square leg by the batsmen and they began the run. Three positions were switched between Raja and Shah Rukh before they picked up the ball and threw it back. Thus, Punjab won the breathtaking game.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Team Preview

Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants are coming into this match with a lot of confidence after winning their most recent game by a wide margin. Even though they are up against strong opposition, they remain confident in their chances of winning again.

Even though Quinton de Kock of South Africa is yet to bat at the top of the order and Mark Wood of England has not been recalled, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Punjab Kings handily in their most recent match. Marcus Stoinis’ fractured finger will likely prevent him from playing in this game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Despite winning their previous two games, Royal Challengers Bangalore was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders in their most recent contest. They have a strong team and will be fierce competitors in this match.

Vaibhav Arora was included in Bangalore’s starting lineup for their most recent game, a loss to Kolkata Knight Riders, and we anticipate him to keep that position. Faf du Plessis will be in the starting lineup if Royal Challengers Bangalore decides to bat first, but we don’t anticipate him to play on the field.

IPL 2023 Cricket Prediction | Match 43: Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium

Since the toss is not likely to determine the outcome of this game, we predict that both skippers will choose to field first before the toss.

On the day of the game, there may be a few isolated thunderstorms and a high of 23 degrees Celsius.

Because of the pitch’s black soil, pacers would like bowling here and spinners would perhaps find some assistance. So far, it has been very difficult to bat here, and another low-scoring thriller may be in store.
