Kolkata Knight Riders vs Punjab Kings Team Preview

Kolkata Knight Riders

Despite the Sunrisers just needing 10 runs from their final eight balls, the Kolkata Knight Riders managed to win their most recent game. A victory like that would give the team confidence going into this game.

Jason Roy, the English opener, was one of two changes made to the Kolkata Knight Riders XI for the victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. David Wiese and Narayan Jagadeesan were fired, and Roy joined Vaibhav Arora on the team in their place. There have been no recent injuries on the side.

Punjab Kings

Despite their inconsistent play throughout the competition, Punjab Kings are still in a good position to finish in the top four. They probably selected this contest as a particularly winnable matchup.

Before Punjab Kings’ loss to Mumbai Indians, Shikhar Dhawan made three lineup changes, substituting Prabhsimran Singh, Rishi Dhawan, and Matthew Short for Atharva Taide, Kagiso Rabada, and Sikandar Raza.

Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Match 50) – Highlights

A win would have pushed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to third place in the points table. In that case, the possibility of securing a place in the playoffs would have increased a lot. But Philip Salt raised a storm in their home. With four wins in the last five matches, Delhi Capitals (DC) kept the dream of the playoffs alive.

The host Capitals defeated the Royal Challengers with 20 balls remaining in the game and by 7 wickets in their field on Saturday (May 6). Earlier in this match, RCB collected 181 runs by losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs depending on the batting skills of Virat Kohli, Mahipal Lomror, and Faf du Plessis. In reply, DC reached the port of victory in 16.4 overs due to Philip Salt’s rampage.

But in this match, Kohli has made an excellent record. He is the first batsman in IPL history to reach the milestone of 7000 runs. Kohli came to the field from just 12 runs behind that feat and achieved this unique accomplishment in the second over of the match. Later he picked up the sixth fifty of this year’s IPL. He surpassed Devon Conway and teammate Faf du Plessis (both have five fifties each).

After winning the toss and batting first, the opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis brought up 82 runs in 10.2 overs for RCB. RCB skipper du Plessis got out after scoring 45 off 32 balls by Mitchell Marsh. He played this innings with 5 fours and 1 six. The very next ball, Marsh sent back his countryman, Glenn Maxwell to the dugout.

Mahipal and Kohli added another 55 runs in the third-wicket partnership. Kohli became the victim of Mukesh Kumar by scoring 55 runs in 46 balls with 5 fours. Mahipal made the biggest contribution to RCB’s challenging collection. He scored an unbeaten 54 off 29 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Dinesh Karthik scored 11 from 9 balls and Anuj Rawat remained unbeaten scoring 8 from 3 balls.

Mitchell Marsh took the maximum number of 2 wickets with 21 runs in 3 overs for DC. Besides, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed took 1 wicket each.

In response, Philip Salt and David Warner made a pair of 60 runs in just 5 overs. Warner was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood on the first ball of the sixth over. The DC captain scored 22 runs off 14 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. It might be surprising to know that this six was Warner’s first six in this edition of the tournament.

In the second wicket partnership, Salt and Marsh added another 59 runs off 32 balls. Marsh scored 26 off 17 balls before being dismissed by Harshal Patel. However, Salt played the biggest role in DC’s winning that day. He played a devastating innings of 87 runs off just 45 balls. The wicket-keeper batsman hit 8 fours and 6 sixes before being bowled by Karn Sharma.

After Salt’s departure, Rilee Rossouw picked up the required run conjugating with Axar Patel. Rossouw remained unbeaten with 35 runs off 22 balls, he scored 1 four and 3 sixes. On the other hand, Axar played an unbeaten innings of 8 runs off 3 balls. Josh Hazlewood, Karn Sharma, and Harshal Patel got 1 wicket each for RCB.

With this loss, Royal Challengers lost the chance to climb up to third place in the points table. Du Plessis’s team is in fifth place in the standings with 5 wins playing 10 matches. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals is now in the 9th position with 8 points playing the same number of matches.

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians (Match 49) – Highlights

Chennai Super Kings took on Mumbai Indians at home in the 49th match of the IPL on Saturday (May 6). Batting first in that match, Mumbai Indians set a low-scoring target in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings reached the target before the scheduled over ended. As a result, they left the field with a victory of 6 wickets. Along with that, Mathisha Pathirana took the title of Man of the Match by doing great bowling.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the two most successful teams in IPL history. Nine of the 15 seasons played thus far in the competition have been won by these two teams. The face-to-face duel between the two teams has more intrigue because they are far ahead of others in success. But in this match, nothing was observed. The ‘IPL Classico’ saw Mumbai lose to Chennai, captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. They suffered a 6-wicket loss to Chennai.

Mumbai was defenseless against the superb bowling of Mathisha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar while batting first after losing the toss and they lost 8 wickets for just 139 runs. In the previous four innings, Rohit Sharma scored 3, 2, 0, and 0. In this game, he also changed from his normal opening position against Chennai. This is the first time since the 2018 IPL season that Rohit did not participate in the opening. He did not, however, score any runs while at bat. Just like him, Ishan Kishan-Cameron Green also failed.

Then, Mumbai attempted to turn things around with the bats of Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wahdhera after losing three wickets in the opening three overs. Surya, however, was unable to extend his innings. Before being dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja, this batsman amassed 26 runs. However, the visitors had to wait until the 16th over to witness their first six since the Mumbai batsmen were having so much trouble playing fluid cricket.

The youthful left-handed batsman Wahdhera, on the other hand, has kept one side in check while scoring his first fifty in the IPL. In essence, Rohit’s side scored 139 runs off his 64-run innings, which included 8 fours and 1 six off 51 balls. Besides, Tristan Stubbs made 20 runs off 21 balls. The remaining people departed the area with one or two runs.

For Chennai, Pathirana grabbed 3 wickets and scored 15 runs in 4 overs. This fast bowler, who entered the game in the 13th over of the innings, bowled 4 overs without giving up a single boundary. In addition, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar both got two wickets, and Tushar Deshpande took one.

In revenge, Chennai jumped out to a quick start thanks to opener Ruturaj Gaikwad’s bat. Ruturaj scored 30 runs off 16 balls, including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. Devon Conway, another opener, moved a little more slowly. Out of 42 balls, he made 44 runs. Also, he hit four fours.

The tiny objective, though, made it easy for Chennai to prevail. Ambati Rayudu scored 12 runs off 11 balls with 1 six, and Ajinkya Rahane scored 21 runs off 17 balls with 1 four and 1 six. Additionally, Shivam Dube departed the field after scoring undefeated innings of 26 runs off 18 balls with the help of 3 sixes, which helped to win the match.

With this victory, Chennai moves up to second position with 13 points after 11 games, while Mumbai drops to sixth with 10 points after one fewer game.

Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at a glance

  • In the last four meetings between the two teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has only won once.
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a disappointing season, winning only three of their nine games.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Aswin, the spinner of Rajasthan Royals (RR) have split 26 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Preview

Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals were in a good position until their last five matches when their season took a turn for the worst. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, have been abysmal all season and are highly beatable.

With the Royals in poor form, the clamor for Joe Root to make his IPL debut is growing stronger. However, doing so would need the absence of one of their specialized T20 overseas players, whom we do not expect to see in this game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad have a game in hand on the majority of the other teams in the 2023 IPL, but they must string together a streak of victories if they are to compete at the top of the league.

The Sunrisers made three changes ahead of their close defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday. Marco Jansen and Kartik Tyagi were two of the newcomers, with Akeal Hosein and Umran Malik leaving.

IPL 2023 Cricket Prediction | Match 52: Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Sawai Mansingh Stadium

The team batting second has won nearly two-thirds of IPL matches at this venue. It would be surprising if either captain elected to bat first in this game.

The first few hours will be sunny, with some cloud cover after dusk. Throughout the game, the temperature is forecast to be over 30 degrees.

On Friday evening, there was a considerable turn in the Sawai Mansingh Stadium wicket, and we expect the spinners to enjoy bowling on this surface once more. A par score will be between 165 to 170 runs.
