England vs New Zealand Match Analysis

England vs New Zealand will be a thrill match as both teams have seasoned players and have performed well in the exhibition games. New Zealand overcame South Africa in the last exhibition match, while England triumphed over Bangladesh. The opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is expected to be an intense contest between the reigning champions England and the runners-up of the previous tournament, New Zealand.

In the past few years, England has had the upper hand over New Zealand, losing just twice in the last ten meetings. The English team is optimistic going into this match because they have one of the hardest-hitting batting lineups.

Given how brilliantly their batsmen have played in the warm-up games, New Zealand won’t be simple to beat. We anticipate an exciting opening to the competition as two of the top clubs square off in the first game.

In a recent ICC World Cup Match, Pakistan locked horns with Australia in the 10th match. Cricket fans were glued to their seats throughout the match as both teams displayed their prowess and the true spirit of an ICC World Cup match.

ENG vs NZ Team Preview & Squads

England

The team wants to start well, and they anticipate strong performances from Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow up top. The team’s middle order is strong thus Joe Root, Jos Buttler, and Liam Livingstone will be targeted for runs. The bottom middle order of the lineup is strengthened by the addition of firepower from Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Chris Woakes.

Reece Topley and Sam Curran will need to get the team off to a strong start with the new ball, and New Zealand boasts a potent batting lineup that can dismantle any bowling unit. The game will benefit from Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid’s bowling because of the favorable conditions. In a supporting position, Stokes and Chris Woakes will be expected to put up a strong performance for the team.

ICC Cricket World Cup Prediction | 1st ODI | England vs New Zealand – It would be an astounding match between England and New Zealand | October 5, 2023 | ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad

The team batting first has prevailed in the last two ODIs played here. As a result, if either captain wins the toss before this game, we anticipate that they will decide to bat first.

In Ahmedabad, there is no chance that the rain will stop this game. The forecast is that the temperature will reach a high of 33 degrees but not fall below 26 degrees before the game is over.

We do not anticipate a par score to be greater than 320 because the Narendra Modi Stadium surface provides a solid contest between bat and ball. The playing field will move for the quick and spin bowlers.

Pakistan vs Australia (Match 10) – Highlights

Pakistan had a mountain height target of 352 runs in front of them. Unpredictably Pakistan lost 4 wickets in 83 runs and almost crashed out of the match. Even in such a match, the Men in Green lost in the end after a great fight.

Pakistan lost by 14 runs against Australia in the World Cup warm-up match in Hyderabad. Babar Azam scored the highest for the team with 12 fours and 2 sixes, playing an innings of 90 runs off 69 balls. Besides, Iftikhar Ahmed played an innings of 83 runs off 85 balls smacking 6 boundaries and 4 sixes.

In a recent ODI warm-up Match Highlight New Zealand won by 7 runs against South Africa.  Cricket fans were glued to their seats throughout the match they’ve witnessed the true spirit of a warm-up match.

Babar and Iftikhar’s partnership of 144 runs for the fifth wicket, Pakistan dreamed of winning the match. However, it ultimately did not become a reality. In the end, Mohammad Nawaz collected 50 off 42 balls. Australia’s part-time spinner Marnus Labuschagne took the maximum number of 3 wickets. Apart from this, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets each and Glenn Maxwell and Sean Abbott took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Although only two batsmen made fifties, the Aussies made a huge collection of 351 runs for 7 wickets with the efforts of the rest.

In the beginning, two openers, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh gave the team a flying start. The Aussies scored 83 runs within 12.2 overs in the opening pair. Usama Mir deprived run machine David Warner of his fifty in the last ball of the 13th over. After scoring 48 runs off 33 balls, Warner returned to the dressing room with a catch by Haris Rauf.

Coming to bowl in the 15th over, Usama struck the second blow in the Australian camp. This leg spinner returned two openers in two consecutive overs. Mitchell Marsh (31 from 48 balls) was caught by Iftikhar this time.

In-form batsman Labuschagne played an innings of 40 runs off 31 balls. Steven Smith failed to contribute to the big target collection. He fell victim to Haris Rauf with 27 runs off 29 balls. Wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey was run out after scoring 11 runs. Then the score of the team stood at 172 runs losing 5 wickets.

After that, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green’s batting led to a big collection for Australia. Maxwell scored 77 runs off 71 balls. Green played an emphatic innings of 50 runs off 40 balls.

For Pakistan, Usama Mir took the maximum number of 2 wickets with 31 runs. Apart from this, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz scalped one wicket each.

Before this, Australia could not play the entire warm-up match against the Netherlands. That match was washed away by rain. As the preparations against Pakistan went well, it can be said that Australia will enter the World Cup with confidence. On the other hand, Pakistan’s experience is exactly the opposite. After losing against New Zealand in the first warm-up match, they also lost in this match, which might demotivate the team spirit a bit.

All-rounder Mohammad Nabi came to the wicket after the rest of these two. But he could not do special favors. After scoring only 1 run off 8 balls, Nabi returned to the dressing room after falling victim to Lahiru Kumara. Then Najibullah Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai conveyed the team to the port of victory with 23 balls in hand.

Rahmanullah scored 119 runs off 92 balls with the help of 8 fours and 9 sixes in the team’s victory. On the other hand, Rahmat scored 93 runs from 82 balls with the help of 10 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from Lahiru, pacer Kasun Rajitha picked up one more wicket for the Lankans. He spent just 18 runs in 7 overs with three maidens. Where his economy rate was 2.6. Moreover, no other bowler could bowl remarkably well for the Lankans.

Earlier, Sri Lanka got off to a great start coming down to bat first in their last warm-up match. Captain Kusal came to the wicket when the opener Dimuth Karunaratne (8) went back to the dressing room for the team’s 30 runs. He started stormy batting on the wicket immediately after his arrival.

After scoring 30 runs off 38 balls, another opener, Pathum Nissanka, returned to the pavilion and Kusal started an atrocious approach of batting on the wicket with Sadeera Samarawickrama. They both made a partnership of 175 runs for the third wicket. Whereas, Samarawickrama added only 39 runs and returned to the dugout getting out by Rashid Khan.

But apart from Kusal, no other batsman on the team could bat well. Kusal went to rest after scoring 158 runs, but the team’s score did not exceed 294 runs after losing all the wickets as the rest of the batters failed to perform well. Afghanistan used a total of eight bowlers against the Lankans. Out of which Nabi took the highest number of 4 wickets.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman was a bright exception from his teammates as he was parsimonious. The Afghan leg-spinner took the wicket of Karunaratne and conceded just 12 runs in 4 overs. Apart from this, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Abdul Rahman, and Rashid got 1 wicket each.
