IND vs BAN Match Analysis

As they prepare for their 17th encounter against Bangladesh, India will want to maintain their lead in the points standings. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is currently being controlled by India, who also arrived with a commanding victory over Pakistan. The Bangladeshis’ ambitions for the remainder of the tournament must be maintained after their defeat to New Zealand in their previous match.

The last three games of the tournament have been victories for the Indians, all of which were significant victories. The hosts would seek to capitalize on their strong batting and bowling performances.

Bangladesh has, however, dropped its last two contests. They need to have a fantastic day to win here because their top order has struggled. Even though the odds are stacked against them, winning this game would be a huge boost to their self-confidence.

IND vs BAN Team Preview & Squads

India

In three games, Rohit Sharma has scored 217 runs. He and Shubman Gill will try to get off to a strong start in this game. They anticipate partnerships between Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul in this game because the middle order has performed well for the team. In the lower middle order, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin strengthen the batting order.

The last three matches have all been won by the Indian bowlers. With the new ball, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj have plagued batsmen and will try to get in early. Kuldeep Yadav, Jadeja, and Ashwin, a strong spin bowling trio, will try to take advantage of the circumstances and disturb the Bangladeshis. This attack becomes stronger thanks to Pandya’s depth addition.

Bangladesh

As the team’s primary area of weakness in this event, Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan must perform well at the top. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shakib, and Mushfiqur Rahim should form partnerships in the middle order to combat the Indians’ potent spin attack. Towhid Hridoy and Mahmudullah must come alive in the closing overs if the team is to post a significant total.

In order to worry India’s strong top order given their recent struggles with the bowling attack, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam will need to bowl tight periods. Shakib needs to succeed in the middle overs against Mehidy Hasan Miraz by utilizing his experience. In the supporting position, Taskin Ahmed and Mahmudullah must bowl well.

South Africa vs Netherlands (15th Match) – Highlights

South Africa started the World Cup by blowing away the mighty Australia and Sri Lanka however, the Netherlands brought them down in the 15th match. By outscoring the Proteas by 38 runs, the Dutch established a new standard in their World Cup history.

The cricket world witnessed the second incident after the England-Afghanistan match in the current World Cup. Chasing 246 runs in 43 overs in a rain-hit match at Dharamsala on Tuesday (October 17), South Africa’s innings was halted at 207 runs in 42.5 overs.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi two days ago, Afghanistan stunned the world by defeating the world champions England by a score of 69 runs. The second incident of the World Cup in India was this time seen by the cricketing community. This time, Dharamshala is the venue. The Proteas’ first four batters were sent to the dressing room for 44 runs by the Dutch, who are ranked 11 spots lower. This delivered an early message of misfortune.

The Proteas’ start in the run chase, though, wasn’t too dreadful. Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock, the team’s two openers, helped them to get 36 runs in 7.5 overs. But the eighth over’s final ball changed the course of the game. De Kock was caught behind by Colin Ackermann. However, Centurion’s innings came to a close with 20 runs off 22 balls. The Proteas then began dropping wickets one after another.

After completing one over, Bavuma moved towards the Dressing room. His batting came to an end at 16 off 31 balls when Roelof van der Merwe bowled him. For 42 runs, South Africa’s third wicket was lost. Paul van Meekeren ‘s victim this time was Aiden Markram. With only one run from three balls, he was bowled. To add two more runs to the team’s total, Rassie van der Dussen came back. He was directed to the changing room by Roelof van der Merwe. After losing the first 4 wickets with an 8-run difference, the Proteas were put under a lot of pressure.

Together with David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen attempted to take the initiative in the fifth wicket. However, the Dutch bowling cannon did not allow their partnership to last longer than 45 runs. The group outscored the duo at teams 89 runs. Logan van Beek defeated Klaasen with 28 runs off 28 balls. When Miller arrived at the crease, Marco Jansen was unable to follow him. Paul van Meekeren bowled him after he had made 9 runs off 25 balls. Miller traveled to the dressing room with the team’s 145 runs as well. After missing Logan van Beek‘s swing and being bowled, he scored 43 runs off 52 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. To win, 101 runs were still required in 12 overs.

Gerald Coetzee and Keshav Maharaj were unable to win their battle in the end. Coetzee was removed from the game after 22 runs on 23 balls. However, Maharaj stayed in the crease until the final over of the innings. After playing a 40-run innings off 37 balls, on the fifth ball of the last over, he was removed from the game. His inning just lowered the loss margin.

Colin Ackermann took 1 wicket. Aryan Dutt bowled 5 overs for 19 runs in 1 maiden despite without getting a wicket.

With 10 fours and 1 six, he had 78 runs off 69 balls and was still undefeated. In the end, Roelof van der Merwe‘s 19-ball 29 and Aryan Dutt’s 9-ball 23 tempestuous innings gave the Dutch a fighting advantage.
