BAN vs NZ Match Analysis

The first of two Test Matches between Bangladesh and New Zealand will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 9:30 local time, the game will begin.

Bangladesh will play its third Test match of 2023 after one-off matches against Afghanistan and Ireland earlier in the year. The Tigers will be motivated to provide a solid red-ball performance after their disappointing World Cup performance in India in October and November.

Many of the Black Caps’ players decided to take some time off in Dubai following the Cricket World Cup before traveling to Sylhet, making their roster for this series incredibly strong. Since mid-March of this year, this will be New Zealand’s first Test match.

BAN vs NZ Team Preview & Squads

Bangladesh

Najmul Hossain Shanto, who has shown promise in white ball cricket over the past 12 months, takes over as captain in lieu of Litton Das, who captained the team during the June Test match against Afghanistan in Dhaka while on paternity leave. After playing three Twenty20 Internationals, opener Shahadat Hossain Dipu will be aiming for his maiden Test cap in this match.

Right-arm pace bowler Taskin Ahmed will also be sidelined due to a shoulder ailment, while ODI captain and spinner Shakib Al Hasan is out with a fractured finger. Instead, Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, two spinners, should provide the biggest bowling threat to the hosts.

During the Cricket World Cup, Kane Williamson made an impressive comeback from injury twice, and his poise will be crucial on this field. In this Test, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, and Daryl Mitchell will all be trying to keep up their excellent international performance.

At the beginning of the innings, captain Tim Southee will bowl first and try to get any swing. Later, he’ll probably transition to a combination of spinners and some short-pitched effort bowling from Neil Wagner. Due to injury, Matt Henry is still out for this trip, while Trent Boult has declared himself unavailable.

He also got the team’s first wicket by sending off Matthew Short (19). In the next over, Josh Inglis (2), the centurion of the last match, was sent back to the dressing room by Bishnoi.

Stoinis, who scored 45 off 23 balls, was dismissed in the next over. After that, the loss becomes a matter of time.

Where Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna took the highest number of 3 wickets each. Apart from this, Axar Patel, Mukesh Kumar, and Arshdeep Singh picked up 1 wicket each.
