Cricket Highlights, 04 Dec West Indies vs England (1st ODI) – Shai Hope's brilliant century gave the Caribbean an incredible win over the English.

West Indies vs England (1st ODI) – Highlights

West Indies could not have a place in the recently concluded ODI World Cup on Indian soil. The two-time world champions failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in the history of cricket. So, the series against England is a fresh start for the Caribbeans. On the other hand, for England, another former champion, the series is to forget the World Cup failure and turn around. However, in the first ODI of the series, West Indies walked through the right path.

Hosts West Indies beat England by 4 wickets in the first match of the three-match ODI series at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua on Saturday (December 3). Captain Shai Hope was the hero of the West Indies’ victory with a brilliant century.

England won the toss and decided to bat first in North Sound. The visitors made a good start with the opening pair of Philip Salt and Will Jacks. 77 runs were added to the scorecard before Philip lost his wicket on the second ball of the ninth over. Philip became a victim of Gudakesh Moti after playing a stormy innings of 45 runs off 28 balls. He played this innings with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

In the next over before any runs were added, Jacks was caught behind the wicket by Alzarri Joseph. He scored 26 runs off 24 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. New batsmen Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett added 33 runs for the fourth wicket partnership. Duckett (20) was bowled by Yannic Cariah in the 16th over. Crawley made a partnership of 71 runs with Harry Brook who came to the wicket after Ducket’s departure. He was run out after scoring 48 runs off 63 balls hitting 5 fours.

Captain Jos Buttler became Moti’s second victim as 10 more runs were added to the scoreboard. The English captain scored only 3 runs off 13 balls. Liam Livingstone (17) was bowled lbw by Romario Shepherd for the team’s 232 runs. Brook became Shepherd’s second victim adding just 7 runs. However, Brook picked up his half-century before that. He scored 71 runs in 72 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Then Sam Curran and Brydon Carse scored 66 runs from 39 balls in a partnership to take the score to 300 for the English. Curran scored 38 off 26 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes before being run out. Carse remained unbeaten on 31 off 21 balls with 2 fours and a six. Besides, Rehan Ahmed scored 12 runs and Gus Atkinson scored 4 runs. In the end, England were all out for 325 runs in the last ball of the fiftieth over.

Gudakesh Motie, Romario Shepherd, and Oshane Thomas took 2 wickets each for West Indies. Apart from this, Yannic Cariah and Alzarri Joseph took 1 wicket each.

In response, the Caribbean got off to a fantastic start. They lost their first wicket for 104 runs in the third ball of the 18th over. Alick Athanaze scored an innings of 66 runs off 65 balls smashing 9 fours and 2 sixes and was lbw to Rehan. West Indies struck again in the next over. Another opener, Brandon King scored 35 off 44 balls with 4 fours and 1 six and was bowled by Livingstone.

Keacy Carty was trapped lbw by Carse on the first ball of the 30th over. He scored 16 runs off 39 balls. Skipper Shai Hope then put on a 56-run partnership with Shimron Hetmyer. Atkinson sent off Hetmyer who scored 32 runs in 38.5 overs of the innings. West Indies collected exactly 200 runs. In the next over, Rutherford returned to the dressing room scoring only 6 runs and the Caribbean was in danger.

But Captain Hope was still hopeful. Joining Hope, Shepherd raised a storm on the wicket. The pair added 89 runs off 51 balls. Atkinson trapped Shepherd lbw on the first ball of the 48 over. This all-rounder scored 48 runs off 28 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes.

West Indies still needed 24 runs off 17 balls to win. However, Hope confirmed the victory in the next over bowled by Curran. He scored the 16th century of his ODI career to win the game for his team. Apart from 16 centuries, Hope has 24 fifties in his 119 ODI career. In the end, Hope remained unbeaten smashing 4 fours and 7 sixes, he scored 109 runs from 83 balls.

New York Strikers vs Delhi Bulls Match Analysis

After triple headers after triple headers, the competition will provide only two games on Monday, giving four teams the option to rest and reset if necessary. But not for the New York Strikers or the Delhi Bulls, who take the field for the fourth time in a row, anxious to avenge their first loss of the season against Morrisville Samp Army on Sunday evening.

The New York Strikers enjoyed a free weekend, but Kieron Pollard’s squad may not have needed the time off as they had just won two straight games after losing their opening game to the Deccan Gladiators.

There has only been one previous meeting between the two teams, and last December, the New York Strikers emerged victorious, winning by seven wickets with just two balls left in play.

New York Strikers vs Delhi Bulls Team Preview & Squads

New York Strikers

Although they haven’t played since Friday, the New York Strikers will be delighted with the standings ahead of this game, which puts them in fourth position, with at least one game in hand on the three clubs above them and only two points away from the summit.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Muhammad Waseem, the opening combination, scored 45 of the 89 runs needed by the New York Strikers in their victory over the Northern Warriors on Friday. Their performance in this match could be crucial to the team’s success or competitiveness. Kusal Perera and skipper Kieron Pollard have significant roles to play batting at numbers three and four, respectively, with an abundance of all-round players occupying the middle and lower order spots.

The New York Strikers have some potent spin options with Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein in their lineup, and their pace-off strategy has generally proven to be the most effective of all the teams in the competition. Mohammad Amir will bowl quickly, but because he hasn’t taken a wicket in the league, he must go for the stumps.

Delhi Bulls

Any team in any sport can have a lengthy winning streak, but a great team is one that never lets a rare defeat get to them. And that’s what the Delhi Bulls need to do in this matchup as they want to win on Monday, a little more than twenty-four hours after they lost their perfect record in the competition this year.

The batting lineup, which includes Quinton de Kock, James Vince, Rilee Rossouw, and Johnson Charles, has received a lot of praise; however, Rovman Powell, the captain, has been the most reliable player, contributing more than any other player while keeping an extremely high strike-rate of over 265 during the competition.

With just 96 runs to defend, the bowlers for the Delhi Bulls faced a challenging assignment on Sunday against the Morrisville Samp Army. Positives will be carried into this match even if they lose, with Fazalhaq Farooqi’s dependability in the wicket-taking stakes being especially noteworthy.

Abu Dhabi T10 League Cricket Match Prediction 2023 | Match 18 | New York Strikers vs Delhi Bulls – Will the NYS be able to pull off their third straight win by defeating the DB? | Dec 04 Sheikh Zayed Stadium

The team that wins the toss has chosen to field in the last 10 games, and we anticipate that trend to continue in this game—especially because the team chasing has won four of the previous five games!

Although there will be some cloud cover for this early evening game, it is not anticipated that the weather will significantly alter from inning to inning. The entire time, the temperature will be in the mid- to upper-20s and the humidity will be over 60%.

In the Abu Dhabi T10 cricket match on Sunday, this field yielded some more high scores. The pitch still has a lot of bounce, carry, and pace.

India vs Australia (5th T20I) – Highlights

Australia kept India under pressure throughout the match. But in the end, the hosts came back in the match with the great bowling of the pacers. Australia needed 10 runs in the last over. However, Arshdeep Singh did not allow Australia to take more than 3 runs. India defeated Australia by 6 runs in the last match of the series in Bangalore. With this victory, the hosts ended the 5-match series with 4-1.

Arshdeep Singh had to face several times before in this kind of pressure. If we bring up the topic of the big stage, we can remember the scenes of the last over of India’s two matches in the Super Four phase of the 2022 Asia Cup.

Within a day, ‘deja vu’ came into Arshdeep’s life. In Dubai, Pakistan and Sri Lanka needed to score seven runs in six balls to defeat India. Indian captain Rohit Sharma gave the ball to Arshdeep in the last over in both matches. The left-handed pacer failed to defend that run both times. Pakistan and Sri Lanka won the match with 1 ball to spare.

Arshdeep had to face that difficult situation again today in Bengaluru. There were just too many runs to defend. Australia needed 10 from the last over to win. In this series, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav backed Arshdeep despite the latter conceding 37 runs in the previous 3 overs. However, this pacer of Punjab learned from his previous failures, and this time he repaid the trust in a great way.

Arshdeep’s opening three deliveries did not yield any runs to Australian skipper Matthew Wade. Wade was also dismissed on the third ball. Nathan Ellis and Jason Behrendorff can take three singles in the last three balls. But India won the thrilling match by 6 runs, having already secured the series.

India set Australia a target of 161 runs at the start of the batting. In response, Australia stopped at 154 runs at the end of the stipulated over.

Batting first, India did not start well. However, the hosts got good capital from Shreyas Iyer’s fifty and Axar Patel’s fighting innings. Shreyas scored 53 runs off 37 balls. 31 runs came from Axar’s bat.

Chasing the target, Australia kept the reins of the match in hand till 15 overs. But India won the match with impeccable bowling in the last 5 overs. Ben McDermott was successful with the bat for Australia. He scored 54 runs off 36 balls.

Earlier in the first T20 of the series, Australia could not avoid defeat despite scoring 208 runs. Chasing a target of 236 runs in the second match, Australia lost by 44 runs.

Australia won the third match by 5 wickets chasing the huge target of 223 runs thrown by India. Chasing 175 runs in the fourth match, Australia lost by 20 runs. Eventually, India won again in the last match.

Abu Dhabi T10 League Cricket Match Prediction 2023 Match 19 Team Abu Dhabi vs Bangla Tigers – Who will win in this match Dec 04

Team Abu Dhabi vs Bangla Tigers Match Analysis

The 3-1 head-to-head record indicates that in their five meetings to date, Team Abu Dhabi has prevailed over the Bangla Tigers. However, this is the perfect moment for the Bangla Tigers to overcome Team Abu Dhabi and attempt to tie the score.

Although these sides are now rated seventh and eighth, it is obvious that the Bangla Tigers are playing a higher caliber of cricket. Their batsmen have amassed two of the biggest tournament scores on either side of 140, but their bowlers are underperforming.

When the Bangla Tigers’ hitting unit performs well, they appear like a whole different animal. And yesterday, they scored 20 boundaries—boy, were they on fire? They will be trying to destroy Team Abu Dhabi’s bowlers, who have had a poor tournament thus far, as they feel they have regained their mojo.

Team Abu Dhabi vs Bangla Tigers Preview & Squads

Team Abu Dhabi

squad Abu Dhabi, the only squad not yet listed on the points standings, is aware that the season has almost ended. They must win all of their remaining games and by a significant margin if they are to place in the final four. To forward their cause, they also require additional outcomes. It’s all starting to seem a little dark now that their bowling and batting units have both completely failed. After being destroyed by every team they faced, Team AD will enter the game looking to elevate their standing and ruin some teams’ festivities.

Although he hasn’t used his resources well thus far, newly chosen skipper Dwayne Pretorius will guide his team into the park tomorrow in the hopes that they will perform better and have greater intentions when they play cricket.

The home team would want to turn things around and end the tournament on a high note with a thrilling victory over the Tigers, but they haven’t given their supporters much to cheer about. The fact that the Bangla Tigers haven’t been able to defeat them more than once in their five meetings thus far gives their side hope when looking at their head-to-head record against them.

Bangla Tigers

Finally, the batsmen of the Bangla Tigers rose to the occasion, amassing 137 runs in just 10 overs at the cost of 3 wickets against a formidable Northern Warriors bowling attack. It was a deliberate attack rather than a wild swing. In the first three overs, the top three hit 16, 17, and 23 while taking only a few wickets in the process.

They lost two set batsmen, Cox and Mendis, in the fifth over despite their best efforts to step it up. Miller and Shanaka, the new batsmen, were content to bunt the ball around for a few overs and even score the occasional boundary, but they were also preparing to go all-out in the latter stages of the innings. Miller easily scored the maximums to reach his first 50 of the tournament, and they scored 59 off the final four.

Though their bowling unit’s condition is certainly cause for concern, the batting earned a much-needed breather. When their opponents start scoring runs at will, their bowlers tend to give out freebies and appear a little disoriented. And if they wish to advance to the tournament’s final round, they might want to work on that component of their strategy.
