Big Bash League Cricket Match Prediction 2023-24 Match 5 Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers – Let’s see who will win Dec 11

Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers Match Analysis

The Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes will square off in the fifth game of the 2023 Big Bash League on Monday night in Launceston. Hobart Hurricanes will be participating in the event for the first time this year, while Sydney Sixers defeated Melbourne Renegades at the SCG on Friday. At 19:15 local time, the match begins.

A very good core of players has been assembled by the Hobart Hurricanes in advance of this year’s event. They do, however, face a formidable opponent who has already won their opening match. To have a chance to win this game, the Hurricanes must get off to a strong start.

The Sydney Sixers are an excellent BBL team, and they proved they could win a close game to start the season. They should have enough talent to make it two wins from two, even without Steve Smith for this match.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers Team Preview & Squads

Hobart Hurricanes

Since none of its players are injured, the Hurricanes have benefited from having to wait patiently for their BBL 2023 opener. Additionally, they don’t have any players on international duty, so on Monday they can choose their best lineup.

The keeper-batter, Ben McDermott, is coming into this match in excellent form, having scored a century in the Marsh Cup over his last three innings and a half-century in the final Twenty20 International against India. He has an outstanding BBL record. Australia’s captain, Matthew Wade, led the team during the Twenty20 International Series against India and finished the innings with some fantastic runs. He will probably bat higher in the order in this game, though.

After 12 Twenty20 Internationals, Australian white ball player Nathan Ellis has a striker rate of 12.5. His career total of 152 T20 wickets gives him plenty of expertise. Tall left-arm quick bowler Riley Meredith, who had fitness issues earlier in the summer, is now healthy and prepared to improve on his best T20 bowling performance of 4/21 in this game.

Sydney Sixers

Due to the impending First Test against Pakistan, Steve Smith—who won Player of the Match with 61 runs from 42 balls in the victory over Melbourne Renegades in Match 2—is not available. Todd Murphy, a spinner, will be available for this match, though.

The keeper-battler Josh Philippe, who entered this game having struck five fours and one six against the Melbourne Renegades, is always in an aggressive mood at the top of the order. The BBL’s captain, Moises Henriques, is a very dependable and steady batsman. He started the season with 40 runs from 32 balls while batting at number four.

In this tournament, bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott has been dismissing hitters very consistently. Against the Renegades, he secured the crucial wicket of Aaron Finch. The right-arm quick medium bowler Ben Dwarshuis had a great time on his most recent T20I tour of India. He then started the BBL with great stats in Match 2, bowling 3/36.

Big Bash League Cricket Match Prediction 2023-24 | Match 5 | Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers – Let’s see who will win | Dec 11 North Tasmania Cricket Association Ground

At this location, just 40% of teams that field first have won T20 cricket matches. Therefore, we anticipate that in this match, both captains will decide to bat first.

It’s going to be rather humid, but Monday night in Tasmania won’t be particularly warm. There’s a good probability of intermittent showers and a high of 11 degrees.

Because of the short borders, high-scoring games are common in Launceston. Nevertheless, fast bowlers can also take advantage of the dampness that is frequently present on the pitch.

Debutant pacer Matthew Forde made the biggest contribution to bring West Indies a victory in the final match of the three-match ODI series. This pacer not only picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs but also scored an important 13 runs with the bat at the last moment of danger. West Indies won the series against England after 16 years thanks to the 21-year-old Caribbean star’s brilliant performance.

As per Local time, the Caribbean won the series against the English for the first time since 2007 thanks to the win in a rain-hit home ground in Bridgetown on Saturday. On this day, the game could not start at the scheduled time due to the rain. After reducing the number of overs, England collected 206 runs, losing 9 wickets by playing the first innings of 40 overs.

In reply, rain struck again before West Indies went down to bat. Later, the hosts were given a target of 188 runs in 34 overs by the DLS method. Chasing this challenging target, the Caribbean reached the port of victory with 14 balls and 4 wickets in hand.

At the start of the day, England took a serious hit after losing the toss and having to bat first. England lost 5 wickets for 49 runs in Forde’s great spell. They lost the wickets of opener Philip Salt (4) and Zak Crawley (0) who came to the crease at number three to collect just 8 runs. Another opener, Will Jacks (17) returned with the team’s 45 runs. Skipper Jos Buttler, who signaled a return to form with a half-century in the previous match, scored zero runs in this game.

Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone pulled England from there. The pair put up 88 runs. Duckett returned to the pavilion after scoring a personal 71 off 73 balls in the team’s 137 runs. After that, Livingstone returned to the dressing room after scoring 45 individual runs in the team’s 142 runs.

But still, England crossed the 200 mark as Matthew Potts and Gus Atkinson added 35 runs for the last wicket. Matthew Forde took the maximum number of 3 wickets with only 29 runs in 8 overs for the Caribbeans. Besides, Alzarri Joseph also took 3 wickets and Romario Shepherd snapped up 2.

West Indies initially stumbled in chasing the target. The hosts lost their first wicket by 2 runs. The Caribbeans then went ahead with the partnership of Alick Athanaze and Keacy Carty. Carty picked up his fifty (58 balls). Alick played an innings of 45 runs. Shai Hope’s team was a bit scared towards the end. They lost 6 wickets for 135 runs.

However, the West Indies won with the bat of Shepherd and Matthew Forde after overcoming the fear. Shepherd scored 41 runs, along with Forde’s contribution of 13 runs, they brought the team to the brink of victory in an unbroken partnership of 56 runs.

Debutant cricketer Matthew Forde expressed his happiness after being selected as the player of the match. Apart from this, Shai Hope was selected as the player of the series by performing well. These two teams will face each other in a five-match T20I series on December 13.

Zimbabwe vs Ireland (2nd T20I) – Highlights

With one match remaining, Ireland emerged victorious in a closely contested match against Zimbabwe, leveling the T20I series at 1-1. Ireland’s fortunes were reversed by a 66-run partnership of 43 balls between Harry Tector and Curtis Campher, who later shared the triumph with George Dockrell and Mark Adair.

Earlier, Zimbabwe was struggling at 78 for 5, but an unbroken partnership of 87 for the sixth wicket between Ryan Burl and Clive Madande helped them reach 165 for 5.

Adair had pinned Marumani in front for a first-ball duck, and Ireland had made a good start after winning the toss. After that, Adair forced Madhevere to leave, and Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Williams started working to give Zimbabwe momentum again.

In the fifth over, the two hit Craig Young hard, hammering him for 22 runs, abruptly turning Zimbabwe into a powerplay. Subsequently, Sean Williams struck out of Curtis Campher after smashing a 17 off 9 balls that included a six and a four with a strike rate of 188.88.

Ryan Burl smashed an undefeated 38 off 33 balls, including three sixes, while Tinashe Kamunhukamwe pounded a 39 off 27 balls with a strike rate of 144.44. In the end, Zimbabwe scored 165-5 in 20 overs, with Clive Madande top-scoring with an undefeated 44 from 39 balls that included two fours and a six.

Mark Adair, the finest bowler in Ireland, collected two wickets, while Craig Young, Curtis Campher, and Gareth Delany each took one wicket.

Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani prevented Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling from getting off to a fast start in the second innings, unlike in the first game. As a result, Ireland was reduced to 20 for 2 in the chase inside four overs, and they found it difficult to move the ball on the slow field.

To make it difficult to obtain boundaries, Zimbabwe’s bowlers kept it tight and made good use of slower deliveries. To put a positive spin on the powerplay and give Ireland some momentum, Tector and Lorcan Tucker took Trevor Gwandu for eighteen runs. In his subsequent over, Gwandu responded, with Tucker providing a straightforward catch to short fine.

At that point, Tector and Campher started working on the repairs. The two of them used the field placements and ground measurements to their advantage, making sure that runs continued to come even though Zimbabwe was giving them nothing in return.

Finally, Harry Tector, who scored 48 off 38 balls and was two runs short of a half-century, was the leading scorer for Ireland as they pursued 166-6 in 19.4 overs.

With a strike rate of 154.16, Curtis Campher blasted 37 off 24 balls, including four fours. Mark Adair struck 19 off 13 balls, including one six and a four, while George Dockrell amassed an undefeated 16 off 10 balls, including two fours, with a strike rate of 160.

Richard Ngarava, the finest bowler in Zimbabwe, took two wickets, while Trevor Gwandu, Luke Jongwe, and Blessing Muzarabani each took one wicket.

RSA vs IND Match Analysis

The three-match T20I series between South Africa and India gets underway at Kingsmead, Durban, on Sunday afternoon. This will be South Africa’s first Twenty20 international match since Australia defeated them 3-0 at the beginning of September. Only one week has passed since India defeated Australia 4-1 in a five-game Twenty20 International series. The start of the match is set for 16:00 locally.

During the 2023 Cricket World Cup, South Africa’s potent hitting and variety of bowling styles won over a lot of cricket fans. Ahead of the upcoming World Cup, attention is now focused on T20 cricket, and they will enjoy their chances against this India team at home.

In addition to winning the series against Australia in the last few weeks, India was also able to provide certain players who would be crucial to them over the next ten years with much-needed experience. They will anticipate having enough talent to start this series with a formidable lineup.

South Africa

With Quinton de Kock out of action for the next six months and Faf du Plessis returning for the 2024 T20 World Cup, Aiden Markram will lead South Africa in this series. In this match, Donovan Ferreira will be aiming to earn his second cap for his country.

The right-handed opener Reeza Hendricks leads the T20Is with a maximum score of 83 and has four scores of forty or more in his six T20I innings played so far in 2023. The captain, Aiden Markram, has amassed 1063 runs from 33 innings in T20Is, averaging a little under 40. In 2023, he amassed a century and three-quarters in the Cricket World Cup.

With his best stats of 5/24, 33-year-old wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has claimed 76 wickets in T20I matches. In Kingsmead, he will receive a turn and bounce off this surface. One of the standout players of the 2023 Cricket World Cup was the bowling all-rounder Marco Jansen, who took reliable wickets and hit cleanly near the end of the innings. His technique appears ideal for Twenty20 cricket.

India

Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav have all returned for this series against Australia, which was played with a much-weakened roster for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Shubman Gill is set to play on Sunday.

The series’ top run scorer for Australia was opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who reached 123 not out in the innings after reaching a half-century. The captain, Suryakumar Yadav, averaged 44.11 from 55 T20I innings and relished the opportunity to lead the team in the series victory over Australia.

The vice-captain, Ravindra Jadeja, wins games with the bat, the ball, and the field. In this game, he will be a crucial lower-order hitter if needed. With nine dismissals overall in the most recent five-match Twenty20 International series against Australia, 23-year-old spinner Ravi Bishnoi emerged as the leading wicket-taker.

Cricket Prediction | South Africa vs India | 1st T20I | Dec 10 – Let’s see how SA will perform in front of the World Cup Finalist Kingsmead

At this location, 50% of T20 matches have resulted in a win for the team batting second, with 17% ending in a draw. In this match, we believe that both captains will prefer to field first.

The weather for this match in Durban is predicted to be cloudy and muggy. Given that the area is expected to receive a lot of rain during the day, it would also be surprising if there were no weather delays.

Although it has slowed down a bit in recent years, this pitch should still have a strong bounce and pace. Over 155 is the projected par score.
