Cricket Prediction | New Zealand vs Bangladesh | 2nd T20I | Dec 29 – Can the Tigers seal the series against the Black Caps winning this match?

NZ vs BAN Match Analysis

Bangladesh travels to Mount Maunganui with a 1-0 lead in the T20I series against New Zealand, knowing that a win on Friday will give them the series with one match remaining. On Wednesday, the Black Caps scored 134/9 in Napier before the Tigers completed the mark with 8 balls remaining. The T20I begins at 19:10 local time at Mount Maunganui’s Bay Oval.

Despite not playing their best T20I team for this series, New Zealand still has a good roster and should be able to defeat Bangladesh at home. The Tigers are becoming more confident, so they know this Friday’s game won’t be simple.

Bangladesh has never had confidence issues when playing in New Zealand, but so far this tour, they have won back-to-back matches. Although winning at Mount Maunganui will be difficult, they will have made a significant impact if they manage to win again.

NZ vs BAN Team Preview & Squads

New Zealand

Despite a late call-up to the team to cover for Kane Williamson’s absence, Rachin Ravindra was not included in the starting XI. With Bangladesh winning by 5 wickets and two ducks, as well as a score of 1 in the top four, Ravindra will have a solid chance of playing in this T20I.

Daryl Mitchell, an all-rounder, did not bowl in the first T20I of the series but still scored two fours when batting. He’ll be unhappy with his homecoming on Wednesday, but things should be better in Mount Maunganui. Before taking 1/7 in Napier, the experienced James Neesham white ball specialist led New Zealand with 48 runs off 29 balls.

In the first Twenty20 International, Mitchell Santner, the interim captain, was the hosts’ joint-most economical bowler and claimed a wicket. Regardless of the format, Santner never fails to perform well for his nation. Tim Southee, 35, was reliable throughout the Napier encounter and got rid of Afif Hossain to get 300 wickets in all T20 cricket matches.

New Zealand Squads

Cricket Prediction | New Zealand vs Bangladesh | 2nd T20I | Dec 29 – Can the Tigers seal the series against the Black Caps winning this match? New Zealand

Mitchell Santner (c), Tim Seifert (wk), Finn Allen, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, and Ben Sears.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh has a group of players with experience in both T20 cricket and international competition, despite the absence of the seasoned three of Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahamudullha. Tanzid Hasan is probably going to make his T20I debut, and Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the team once again.

Litton Das, the keeper batter, guided Bangladesh to victory in Napier with two fours and one six in his perfect innings. In the most recent game, left-hander Soumya Sarkar overcame his vision issues from the final ODI and scored the highest strike rate in the team with 22 runs.

Having had a fantastic tour, youthful and promising left-arm swing bowler Shoriful Islam dismissed Glenn Phillips and Finn Allen with his second and third deliveries of the game on Wednesday. Mustafizur Rahman, a 28-year-old left-arm quick medium bowler, displayed an impressive array of talents during the first ODI when he dismissed Tim Southee and James Neesham.

Cricket Prediction | New Zealand vs Bangladesh | 2nd T20I | Dec 29 – Can the Tigers seal the series against the Black Caps winning this match?

Bay Oval Mount, Maunganui

With the side batting first winning the previous eight T20Is at the Bay Oval, this will be the ninth one played there. If they win the toss, we think both captains will decide to bat first. The weather forecast indicates that there may be minor delays during the game’s first half. There will likely be thunderstorms and high humidity in the area.

The majority of analysts anticipate Mount Maunganui to be a bowler’s paradise, thus any first-inning total of 150 or more is probably going to be difficult to overcome.

Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers Match Analysis

The Big Bash League 2023–24 is now on its 18th game. The Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers will battle for survival. The Renegades have had trouble with their form after losing to the Perth Scorchers in their previous match. Against the Sydney Sixers, the Adelaide Strikers again lost.

There have already been eighteen games between the two sides. With 11 victories, the Adelaide Strikers lead the squad in dominance, followed by the Renegades with 7.

The Melbourne Renegades have not succeeded in crossing the finish line. They are positioned last in the standings having dropped every game. Their prospects of moving on to the next round will be dashed with one more defeat. We anticipate a competitive game in this one because the Adelaide Strikers have also had difficulties.

Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers Team Preview & Squads

Melbourne Renegades

There is serious trouble for Nic Maddinson’s team. In their most recent encounter with the Perth Scorchers, they lost by a score of 13 runs. The players would suffer because they lost the match from a position of strength. Maddinson would have expected his players to put up a better performance because they needed to win this game to advance to the playoffs.

In the previous game, Quinton de Kock and Joe Clarke got off to a strong start, so the team is hoping for more of the same. Although Shaun Marsh had a strong game as well, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Nic Maddinson will be crucial for the team’s runs. The side will be hoping for a strong performance from Jonathan Wells, Tom Rogers, and Will Sutherland because the lower middle order hasn’t lived up to expectations.

The batsmen haven’t been playing at their best, so the bowling attack has an added obligation. Early goals from Tom Rogers and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be crucial for the team.

Melbourne Renegades Squads

Nic Maddinson (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Kane Richardson, Tom Rogers, Peter Siddle, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Finch, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Joe Clarke, Jonathan Wells, and Will Sutherland.

Adelaide Strikers

The team of Matthew Short is coming into this match down. The team lost to the Sydney Sixers heartbreakingly, falling short by a single run. The captain of the Strikers wants to move past this outing and focus on getting the season back on track. Short would want to take advantage of the fact that their rivals haven’t been playing well.

The team needs a strong start since D’Arcy Short and Matthew Short make a strong opening duo. In the most recent game, Chris Lynn looked impressive. He will try to form middle-order combinations with Adam Hose and Jake Weatherald.

David Payne and Short will bowl first, hoping to take advantage of any holes in the Renegades’ batting lineup to get the team off to a strong start. Middle overs bowlers Overton and Wes Agar need to pick wickets and deliver tight periods. Cameron Boyce and Bazley in supporting parts should have strong performances, according to the side.

New Zealand vs Bangladesh (1st T20I) – Highlights

Finally, Bangladesh got the desired T20I win on New Zealand soil. The Tigers succeeded in the tenth match after losing nine T20Is against New Zealand.

Bangladesh and hosts New Zealand will meet in Napier on Wednesday (December 27). Tiger captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Kiwis fell into disaster after batting. In the end, the team scored 134 runs, losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh won by losing 5 wickets in 18.4 overs.

This victory of Bangladesh was much awaited. Earlier, the Tigers ended their ODI series win drought on Kiwi soil. However, Bangladesh had to gain some momentum to win the T20I. Chasing an easy target of 135 runs, they lost 2 wickets in 5 overs.

After that, when Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, and Afif Hossain were out, the Tigers were knocked out of the match. However, wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das brought victory to the team with responsible batting keeping one end.

Before this, Mahedi Hasan bowled Tim Seifert who could not open the run book after playing 3 balls in the first over of the first innings of the match. Only 1 run came in that over. Shoriful Islam showed surprise in the second over.

Kiwi batsman Finn Allen failed to get a runoff on Shoriful’s first ball. And he gave the catch to Soumya on the second ball. Both openers were dismissed for 1 run. The third ball of the over hits Glenn Phillips directly on his pads. If the umpire does not give out, Bangladesh takes a review. Later the TV umpire declared him lbw. Phillips returned to the dressing room without opening the account of the run.

Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman tried to handle the shock after the fall of 3 wickets in 1 run. However, Mahedi did not allow them to stay for long. He ended this pair by bowling Mitchell who scored 14 runs off 15 balls. On the other hand, Chapman was still trying to maintain the pace of the run. However, Chapman, who scored 19 runs off 19 balls, was caught by Tanzim Sakib and sent to the dressing room by Rishad Hossain.

As a result, the Kiwis lost 5 wickets to score 50 runs. James Neesham has stood alone as a shield in times of danger for the team. One by one his teammates departed but he kept the run book going by hitting four-sixes. But in the end, Mustafizur Rahman stopped him. Neesham left with 48 runs off 29 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes.

After that several missed field incidents were seen in the match. Bangladesh also missed two catches. In the end, thanks to Adam Milne’s innings of 16 runs from 12 balls, the collection of Black Caps stood at 134 runs for 9 wickets. Shoriful took the maximum of 3 wickets for Bangladesh. Besides, Mahedi and Mustafiz took 2 wickets and Tanzim and Rishad took 1 wicket each.

Batting in response to 135 runs, Bangladesh lost wickets in the second over. Rony Talukdar threw the ball in the air while pulling the ball from Adam Milne. The catch went to Tim Southee as he couldn’t do the timing. And in that, Bangladesh lost the first wicket for the team’s 13 runs. Rony scored 10 runs off 7 balls.

After that, Najmul started well, but he returned to the dressing room after scoring 19 runs off 14 balls. After that, Soumya made a partnership of 29 runs from 22 balls with Litton. But he missed the line off Ben Sears in 8.4 overs. The ball hit the wicket directly. As a result, Soumya returned to the pavilion by scoring 22 runs in 15 balls for the team’s 67 runs.

After Soumya, Towhid also returned to the dressing room with hope. He scored 19 runs off 18 balls. And Afif Hossain’s bad out puts the team in danger. At the crucial moment, Afif got out by scoring 1 run. But in the end, the opener Litton left the field after confirming the victory with Mahedi. Litton was unbeaten on 42 off 36 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. And Mahedi was unbeaten with 19 runs off 16 balls.
