Galle Titans and Colombo Strikers met in the 10th match of Lanka Premier League 2023. In that game, the Galle Titans batted first and set a respectable target in the allowed 20 overs. But the players of Colombo Strikers reached the target before the scheduled 20 overs were over. As a result, they left the field with a huge victory of 7 wickets. On the other hand, Babar Azam won the man of the match title by batting brilliantly for Colombo Strikers.

Winning the toss, Colombo Strikers captain Niroshan Dickwella chose to bowl first and invited the Galle Titans to bat. Galle Titans scored 188 runs by losing 3 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Batting first, Lasith Croospulle and Shevon Daniel got off to a good start. The two made a pair of 87 runs off 47 balls in the opening. Later, their formidable pair was broken by left-arm bowler Lakshan Sandakan. Opener Lasith Croospulle left the field after being bowled out by his bowling. Lasith Croospulle played a 36-run innings off 19 balls before getting out. His innings of 36 runs was studded with 4 fours and 2 sixes.  

Then Bhanuka Rajapaksa entered the field. But Shevon Daniel couldn’t keep up with him on the field. Just 1 over after Lasith was dismissed, Shevon Daniel was trapped in lbw by Kushal Mendis. He played an innings of 49 runs from 31 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes. Then came Tim Seifert to accompany Bhanuka Rajapaksa.  Together they made 87 runs off 58 balls. At that time, Bhanuka Rajapaksa left the field after being bowled out by Nasim Shah. He scored only 30 runs off 31 balls with the help of 2 fours.  

In the end, Tim Seifert remained unbeaten with a brilliant innings of 54 runs from 35 balls. His innings of 54 runs was decorated with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Besides, Captain Dasun Shanaka was unbeaten for 6 runs after playing 4 balls. Later they set a target of 189 runs with 13 runs extra.

On this day, Colombo strikers were also successful in batting in the 2nd innings. Batting for a target of 189 runs, Colombo Strikers reached the target with 1 ball in hand. Pathum Nissanka and Babar Azam shone on the field for them. In fact, by their batting Colombo strikers won that match. Their first wicket fell for the team’s 111 runs. Pathum Nissanka left the field after being caught out by Tabraiz Shamsi. He scored 54 off 40 balls with 5 fours and 1 six before getting out. 

After that, Nuwanidu Fernando left the field while with Babar Azam on 166 runs. Tabraiz Shamsi also caught him out and sent him off the field. He scored only 8 runs in 13 balls. Then in the drama of the last over, Babar Azam, who scored the most runs for them, returned from the field with 5 balls to spare. Off Kasun Rajitha, he left the field with a catch in the hands of Shakib-al-Hasan. He played a stormy innings of 104 runs off 59 balls. His innings of 104 runs had 8 fours and 5 sixes.
