B-Love Kandy vs Dambulla Aura (Match 19) – Highlights

B-Love Kandy and Dambulla Ora faced each other in the 19th match of Lanka Premier League 2023. Batting first in that match, Dambulla Aura scored a moderate target in the allotted 20 overs. But chasing that target, B-Love Candy was bowled by Dambulla Aura’s bowling before the allotted 20 overs were over. As a result, they left the field with a loss of 20 runs. On the other hand, captain Dhananjaya de Silva won the Man of the Match award for Dambulla Ora with his excellent bowling.

B-Love Candy won the toss and elected to bowl first, with Wanindu Hasaranga, the captain, and invited Dambulla Aura to bowl. Batting first, Avishka Fernando and Sadeera Samarawickrama got off to a good start. The two made a partnership of 61 runs off 47 balls. But then Sadeera Samarawickrama had to go back to the dressing room. He scored 31 off 26 balls with 6 fours before getting out. After Sadeera Samarawickrama got out, their downtime started. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Avishka Fernando left the field with 80 team runs. He scored the most runs for them by scoring 41 runs off 27 balls. He also hit 3 fours and 3 sixes.  

Then Lakshan Edirisinghe left the field with 6 runs from 6 balls with the help of 1 four. The batters held on a bit for the 4th wicket but two more wickets fell in the 15th over. Dhananjaya de Silva, who scored 10 runs in 16 balls, returned first. Then Alex Ross left the field after hitting the golden duck. Then, Ben McDermott and Hayden Kerr took the team’s run to 142 runs. But the bad thing is that Ben McDermott had to leave the field. He scored 37 runs off 23 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Hayden Kerr returned to the dressing room with the last ball of the scheduled over. He scored 26 runs off 16 balls and hit 3 fours and 1 six before getting out.

Besides, Sachitha Jayathilake was unbeaten on 4 runs from 5 balls. In the end, their innings stopped at 162 after losing 7 wickets with 7 extra runs. 

Nuwan Pradeep took 3 wickets for B-Love Candy. Mujib ur Rahman took 2 wickets. Besides, Chaturanga de Silva and Wanindu Hasaranga took 1 wicket each. 

Batting for a target of 163 runs, B-Love Candy folded before the end of the stipulated over. They did not have a good start when they came down to bat. They lost 2 wickets for the team’s 12 runs. Dinesh Chandimal scored the most runs for them. Scored 50 runs off 46 balls with the help of 6 fours. Angelo Mathews scored 26 runs off 15 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. Bowler Isuru Udana scored 23 runs off 21 balls. He also hit 2 fours and 1 six. Captain Wanindu Hasaranga scored 19 runs off 11 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. Apart from that, no one else could reach 2 digit house. In the end, they managed to score 142 runs with 7 runs extra.

Dhananjaya de Silva took 4 wickets alone for Dambulla Aura. Pramod Madushan took 2 wickets. Besides, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sachita Jayathilake, and Hayden Kerr took 1 wicket each.
