Afridi wants alternative players to Babar in ODI World Cup
Shahid Afridi’s Strategy – Providing Alternatives to Babar Azam for ODI World Cup Success The cricketing world is abuzz with anticipation as the thirteenth
India has had a good start in the new year. They have not lost any series so far. Rohit Sharma’s team got off to a good start in the ongoing three-match ODI series against New Zealand. But after winning the first match, the Indians had to get bad news. The whole team had to face punishment. And India’s slow over rate in the first match is considered punishable.
India could not finish the over in the stipulated time in the match. Due to the slow over-rate law, the entire Indian team was fined by the match referee. In that case, 60 per cent has been deducted from Rohit’s match fee for every over. The Indian captain also admitted his guilt and accepted the punishment. As a result, there was no need for a formal hearing.
Meanwhile, taking 60 per cent off the Indian match fee means a considerable amount of money is gone. Because the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) gives about 6 lakh rupees to the cricketers for each ODI match. Accordingly, 60 per cent of the fine means that Rohit has to pay about 3.5 lakh rupees. But as the match was won, the Indians were satisfied despite the financial loss.
However, not only the penalty has to be counted from this match, but the Indian team received another alarming message. And that is the danger of a strong batting line-up collapsing at any time. Because India almost lost the first match against the Kiwis. Except for one of Shubman Gill’s double centuries, all failed with the bat. The second-highest 34 runs for the team came from the captain’s bat.
So, apart from finishing the over at the right time, Rohit is also careful with their batting. Because the one-day world cup is ahead! That too at home. To prove their superiority in that tournament, the Indian team started planning from the beginning of the year. Team India wants to play more perfect cricket to win the World Cup, said Rohit in a recent interview. There is a reason for the captain to be so careful, it is the small mistakes in the big match that can knock them out of the match.
