Coaches play an important role in any sport, be it cricket or football. Of course, that coach lives in person, with the team. But this time Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to add new dimension to this coaching method. They are going to hire online coaches for the first time in history. And Mickey Arthur is supposed to coach Pakistan online.

Recently, Pakistan announced the appointment of Arthur as the head coach. The South African coach also agreed to work with Babar Azams. But in between, Arthur is busy. Being in charge of Derbyshire in the English county, he cannot come to Pakistan now. For that reason, PCB has arranged Arthur’s coaching classes online for now.

However, PCB chief Najam Sethi is reluctant to open up in this regard. Regarding the new coach’s activities, the PCB president said, “As you know, I have been in direct contact with Arthur myself. So far, the talks have progressed almost 90 percent. There are many things we have to think about. Everything has to be fixed here. Hopefully, it will be official soon. All will be announced.”

PCB wants to give full freedom to Arthur when he becomes the head coach. In that case, he has the opportunity to build a coaching panel of his choice. In this context, Sethi also said, “Arthur, in fact, he will arrange everything in his own way. He will work with the assistant coach of his choice. We will only arrange the salary of the coaches. Hopefully, everything will be done soon.”

Meanwhile, according to Pakistani media reports, Arthur will set foot in Pakistan only after the work of Derbyshire is completed. That may be before this year’s ODI World Cup. Because, under Arthur, Pakistanis will play the World Cup on Indian soil. The team has had great success under this coach before. Brought home the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Let’s see how much success Arthur can bring to Babar Azam’s team.
