BAN vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights In a thrilling Test match, BAN triumphed over the WI by 101 runs in the second Test
India has won the first two matches of the five-match series. This time, if they can beat Australia, they will be sure to win the series with two matches in hand. Half of that goal was done by the hosts. Batsman Rituraj Gaikwad’s century gave India a challenging target for Aussies.
But Glenn Maxwell gave Australia a great victory. Aussies won the third T20 against hosts India by 5 wickets in the last ball using his batting spree. Batting first in Guwahati on Tuesday (November 28), India scored a massive 222 runs. In reply, Australia confirmed the victory at the very last ball. Maxwell was unbeaten with 104 runs off 48 balls. However, Australia kept the series alive with his rampage.
Australia needed 21 runs to win in the last over. At that time, Maxwell had 86 runs next to his name. This all-rounder also brought victory to the team by completing a century in 47 balls. He has hit 8 fours and as many sixes in his innings. Matthew Wade was unbeaten on 28 off 16 balls.
Besides, Travis Head 35, Marcus Stoinis 17, Aaron Hardy 16, and Josh Inglis scored 10 runs for the Aussies. Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets for India. Arshdeep Singh, Aves Khan, and Axar Patel took one wicket each.
Earlier, batsman Ruturaj played an important role in the big collection by scoring a century. In the end, he scored an unbeaten 123 off 57 balls with 13 fours and 7 sixes. His strike rate was over 215. Basically, this Indian opener did what is meant by T20. Ruturaj, who came down at the beginning of the innings, had to wait till the last over for his century.
Meanwhile, on the day of Ruturaj’s rampage, another opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned at the start. He was returned by Jason Behrendorff at the team’s 14 runs. Ishaan Kishan also could not work on this day. Before opening the run book, Kane Richardson’s delivery caught him out.
After that Ruturaj was accompanied by Suryakumar and Tilak Verma. India’s captain Suryakumar (39 runs from 29 balls) returned to the dressing room for 81 runs and Tilak covered the rest of the way. He scored an unbeaten 31 off 24 balls.
Kane Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, and Aaron Hardy took one wicket each for the Aussies.
