BAN vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights In a thrilling Test match, BAN triumphed over the WI by 101 runs in the second Test
India won the five-match T20I series by 3-1 with one match in India vs Australia at home. They won by 20 runs in the fourth match on Friday (December 1). In response to the hosts’ target of 174 runs, the Aussies’ innings stopped at 154 runs.
Visiting Australia entered the field with five changes in this match in Raipur. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Jos Inglis, Kane Richardson, and Nathan Ellis have returned home. Josh Philippe, Ben McDermott, Matthew Short, Ben Dwarshuis, and Chris Green got a chance to replace them. But they failed to take the team towards the goal of victory.
In this match, Travis Head raised a storm coming down to chase the total, but Josh Philippe continued to play defensively at the other end. He departed after scoring 8 runs in 7 balls. After 4 runs were added to the scoreboard, Head also left the field with a catch. He scored 31 runs off 16 balls. Aaron Hardie also scored 8 runs like Philippe. Ben McDermott and Tim David both scored 19 each.
Matthew Short, along with captain Matthew Wade, gave Australia some hope, but he also departed after scoring 22 runs. Although Wade tried in the end, Australia could not dock at the port of victory. In the end, Wade remained unbeaten with 36 runs off 23 balls.
Bowling all-rounder Axar Patel took the leading number of 3 wickets for India with just 16 runs in 4 overs. He was also adjudged the player of the match courtesy of his brilliant spell. Besides, Deepak Chahar took 2 wickets for the team and Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan got 1 wicket each.
At the end of the scheduled over, the hosts India were able to collect a fighting score of 174 runs after losing 9 wickets. They broke the opening pair by 50 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal departed as he made 37 runs off 28 balls. Jaiswal played aggressively but another opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was batting at a slow pace. Shreyas Iyer also matched him with one down.
Iyer left the field after being caught by Chris Green off Tanveer Sangha for 8 runs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored only 1 run. Ruturaj got out on Tanveer’s over with 32 runs off 28 balls. Then Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma combined to build up the innings. Jitesh returned to the pavilion after playing a cameo innings of 35 runs off 19 balls. India’s team score was 167 then.
Then again they were knocked out of the match. Because India lost 4 wickets in the last 9 balls. After playing 1 ball, Axar gave away a catch on the boundary. Rinku was lbw in Behrendorff’s next over scoring 46 off 29 balls. His innings had 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Ben Dwarshuis took the highest number of 3 wickets for the Aussies. Apart from this, Jason Behrendorff and Tanveer Sangha took 2 wickets each, and Aaron Hardie picked up one wicket. These two teams will meet in the last match of the series on December 3 (Sunday).
