The important pacer of the New Zealand team, Kyle Jamieson isn’t able to play for a long time,. He was injured in the middle of last year. He also had to undergo surgery to recover from the stress fracture. After recovering and waiting to return to the field, Jamieson got injured again. Due to which he has to go out of the field again for a few months. Bad times isn’t leaving Kiwi pacer behind.
Jamieson also played a few matches in the New Zealand domestic league after recovering from injury. Then there is a possibility to return to the field in the jersey of the national team with the England series. For this reason, he also played in preparation matches to improve himself. But luck didn’t support him. Jamieson again suffering from an old injury. For this, the doctor suggested surgery.
Commenting on Jamieson’s injury, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said, “It’s a very difficult time for him (Jamieson). It’s challenging and frustrating as well. He’s a good cricketer across all three formats. We wish him all the best so that he can make a quick comeback. But the current situation looks like, he may have to be out of action for the next 3-4 months.”
Stead doesn’t want to rush Jamieson too much. The Kiwi coach told him to give him enough time to recover. In this context, Stead also said, “Many cricketers undergo this surgery. They come back. Hopefully, Jamieson will be back soon. He is an important player in our team. We will give him enough time to recover.”
Meanwhile, at the end of this year, the ODI World Cup will be held in India. The New Zealand Cricket Board will want to get Jamieson in that event. However, the pacer’s rehabilitation process is said to take time, it remains to be seen how much he recovers during that time. If not recovered in time, he will miss the World Cup. Although if he becomes fit, there are doubts about his return to form.
