Then, CSK’s new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad handed the ball to Mustafizur Rahman. On this day, it was as if another person was seen at the Chidambaram Stadium. The Protea batter tried to pick up the next ball as well. But the ball outside of his off stump failed to connect properly on the bat and was caught by the fielder Ravindra at deep point. Deepak succeeded in bowling in the next over, using the pressure of Mustafiz in the RCB camp. He dismissed Glenn Maxwell. This Aussie all-rounder started the season with a golden duck.

At times, Cameron Green and Kohli tried to control the team. 35 runs came in their pair. But Mustafiz did not let them go far. Coming in the 12th over, he guided two settled batters to the dressing room.

Anuj Rawat struck Green with 1 run in the next ball. This time, Green lost his stumps while playing to make room for Mustafiz’s leg pitch outside the stumps. He scored 18 runs off 22 balls.

Dinesh Karthik and Rawat led the team to 116 runs in the next four overs. Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande, and Maheesh Theekshana could not put them under much pressure. Mustafiz came on the attack in the 17th over. This tiger pacer could not take any wicket in this over but only spent 7 runs.

In the 18th over, Karthik and Rawat picked up 25 runs by taming Tushar. Coming to end his spell in the 19th over, Mustafiz gave 16 runs. His victim was 4 wickets at the cost of 29 runs at the end of 4 overs. This is his best innings in IPL career. The previous one was 3 for 16, for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2016.

On this side, Tushar, who sprouted 38 runs in the previous three overs, spent only 9 runs in the last over with great bowling. Rawat got out with a regrade of 2 runs. He scored 48 runs off 25 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Karthik scored 38 runs off 26 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes. 95 runs came in the pair of the two. RCB’s innings stopped at 173 runs.

Then Rahane and Daryl Mitchell took the lead. But Rahane could not go far. He departed after scoring 27 runs off 19 balls. After a while, Mitchell also departed after scoring 22 runs from 18 balls and the rest was done by Shivam Dube and Jadeja. Both left the field after confirming the victory of the team.
