Delhi had reached 74 in 8 overs when Pant arrived at the crease. Delhi had such a strong start thanks to Mitchell Marsh and David Warner. In the first over, the two Australians put on a partnership of 39 runs off 20 balls. Warner and Shai Hope’s partnership then took 35 runs off 28 balls. Pant tried to cut the first ball of spinner Harpreet Brar at the crease, but the ball did not hit the bat. 

 

Pant got his first boundary off Rahul Chahar, though it was a missed catch by Harshal Patel at mid-wicket. He then hit another four off Harshal. Later he was also dismissed by Harshal. Delhi’s runs were 149 till 19 overs. However, in the last over, Abhishek Porel scored 25 runs off six balls from Harshal. That is how Delhi got the capital to fight. 

 

Punjab’s impact players Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel took two wickets each.

 

Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow got off to a good start for Punjab after going into bat for a target of 175 runs. Made a pair of 34 runs off 19 balls. Shikhar scored 22 runs and got out, off Ishant Sharma and Bairstow got run out for 9 runs, but Punjab’s next batsmen did not have to take much pressure. Prabashimran Singh made 26 runs off 17 balls as an impact sub. Sam Curran batted at number 4 to meet the needs of the situation.

 

The English all-rounder, who hit 50 off 39 balls, got out with 63 runs off 47 balls. Another English all-rounder Liam Livingstone gave him worthy company. Coming to the crease in the 12th over, he played an unbeaten 38-run innings off 21 balls. In the 19th over of the innings, Khalil Ahmed dismissed Curran and Shashank Singh off two balls in a row, but the result of the match was not affected.

 

Sam Curran’s 63 and finally Liam Livingstone’s unbeaten innings of 38 runs helped Punjab to win. Livingstone ended the match by hitting a six.

 

Khalil Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each for Delhi.
