Chennai was having a great time. On this day, the Chennai batters got attacked by the Lucknow bowlers right from the start. Rachin Ravindra returned to the dressing room after adding 4 runs to the team’s account. He was bowled by the speed of Mohsin Khan when he came to face his first ball. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad tries to accompany opener Ajinkya Rahane. But Yash Thakur didn’t let him stay at the crease for a longer time. Ruturaj scored 17 runs from 13 balls and at the team’s 33 runs, he was caught out by Lokesh Rahul.

Krunal Pandya sent Rahane back to the bench, who kept himself at one end. He was bowled out after scoring 36 runs off 24 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Chennai, who lost their third wicket for 68 runs, lost their fourth wicket for 87 runs. Shivam Dubey was caught behind by Marcus Stoinis with just 3 runs off 8 balls. Then, Ravindra Jadeja led the team. But Sameer Rizvi failed to accompany him. He was a victim of Krunal with 1 run from 5 balls. After that, Moeen Ali came to the crease to take control of the team under pressure. He made a partnership of 51 runs with Jadeja.

Moeen, however, could not open his hands to bat in the beginning. He hit Ravi Bishnoi for three consecutive sixes in the 18th over. Then he was caught by Ayush Badoni while hitting the fourth ball again. He left the team with 141 runs by scoring 30 runs in 20 balls and 3 sixes. At the other end, Jadeja kept the team’s run rolling by scoring a fifty. Dhoni joined him after that.

In the end, he brought great capital to the team by diminishing the Lucknow bowlers. At the end of 17 overs, Chennai collected 123 after losing 5 wickets. However, with the help of Moeen and Dhoni, the team scored 53 runs in the last 3 overs. Chennai capitalized on his effective innings of 28 runs off just 9 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Among the Lucknow bowlers, except for Matt Henry, all the other bowlers who took the ball in hand got to see the wicket. The most successful was Krunal. His victim was 2 at the cost of 16 runs in 3 overs.

In response to 177 runs, Lucknow’s two openers Quinton de Kock and Lokesh Rahul formed an irresistible pair. 134 runs came from their pair. Chennai could not do the job without returning these two openers of the team. Mustafiz was especially disappointed with the ball. He got 1 wicket with 43 runs in 4 overs. Among the 6 bowlers of Chennai, the cutter master gave the most runs. He gave 10.75 runs per over. Lucknow won it more easily.
