Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans (Match 7) – Highlights

Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals pitted off against each other in the seventh IPL game yesterday (March 4). Where Delhi batted first and they scored 162 runs while losing 8 wickets. In response, Gujarat lost 4 wickets but still managed to win with 11 balls in hand. At the same time, Gujarat’s Impact Full player Sai Sudharsan received the game’s Man of the Match award for his outstanding batting.

In addition, Mustafiz Rahman is the subject of much discussion. A hired aircraft was used to transport Mustafizur Rahman to India. Because of Delhi Capitals’ urgency, the Bangladeshi pacer was flown privately that’s why supporters expect that Mustafiz will play.

But, like the initial game, they didn’t put him in starting eleven. Mustafiz might be too exhausted from traveling to play in the first match; but what about the second match? Delhi Capitals is aware of the reason why this cutter master was not used in this game.

Yet, their result was not favorable. They had to lose the second game just like the previous one. This time, the Delhi Capitals were defeated by the champion Gujarat Titans by a margin of six wickets.

The hosts were put into bat at the Arun Jaitley (previously Feroz Shah Kotla) stadium in Delhi after Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans won the toss. The Delhi batters got off to a sluggish start. Warner was a little caustic, but Prithi Shaw was unfazed at all. After scoring 7 runs in 5 balls, he was out. Mitchell Marsh left the game after scoring 4 runs in 4 balls.

At the 67 runs mark, two more wickets were lost for the side. David Warner was the first to be dismissed after scoring 37 runs off of 32 balls including seven fours.  Rilee Rossouw then hit the golden duck and went back to the bench. Delhi, who were in trouble after losing 4 wickets for 67 runs, were pulled along by Sarfaraz Khan and Abhishek Porel.

Sarfaraz used two fours to score 30 runs off of 34 balls. Having faced only 11 balls, Abhishek Porel was out for 20. Also, he hit two sixes. Axar Patel made 36 runs off 22 balls, including two fours and three sixes. Other batters did not make a lot of difference. Anrich Nortje scored four runs, Aman Hakeem Khan scored eight, and Kuldeep Yadav scored one. Delhi’s final score, with 15 runs added on, was 162 for the cost of 8 wickets.

For Gujarat, Mohammad Shami and Rashid Khan both claimed three wickets. 2 wickets were taken by Alzarri Joseph.

Gujarat’s Wriddhiman Saha responded by scoring 14 runs in the opening over. Nonetheless, he was bowled without realizing Anrich Nortje’s pace. Shubman Gill failed to score the bulk of runs during this game. He took 14 runs. Then Gujarat was under strain when Hardik went out for five runs. From there, the team was led by Sai Sudarshan and Vijay Shankar, who was brought in as impact players. Together, they scored 50 runs. Vijay was caught after scoring 29 off 23 balls.

Following that, David Miller led the group to victory by teaming up with Sudarshan. He took two sixes and a four off Mukesh Kumar in one over. Sudarshan chased runs as he finished his half-century. He finished with 62 runs off of 48 balls. Miller used 16 balls to score 31 runs.

For Delhi, Anrich Nortje claimed two wickets. Mitchell Marsh and Khalil Ahmed each secured one wicket.
