Lancashire Lightning vs Worcestershire Rapids Team Preview
Lancashire Lightning
Lancashire has slipped to fifth place in the North Group after dropping four straight games, although they are still only two points back of the leaders. They have, however, competed in the greatest number of games of any side in the league and must immediately improve their record.
In the most recent loss, Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler both scored runs (34 from 30 balls and 23 from 16 balls, respectively), but Lightning needs one or both of these players to pick up the pace and contribute significantly in this game. In the loss to the Notts Outlaws, Liam Livingstone and Jack Blatherwick each took two wickets, although Luke Wood, Colin de Grandhomme, or Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand were not dismissed. In the last four games, Wood has only taken one wicket.
Worcestershire Rapids
Worcestershire is currently in first place in the North Group with eight points after five matches despite losing to Northamptonshire Steelbacks on Sunday, which ended their perfect record in the Vitality T20 Blast 2023.
Although Worcestershire has been playing outstanding T20 cricket throughout the competition, they will be sad to have lost their opening game of the season. Down the order, keeper-batter Ben Cox produced a very handy 46 not out off of 29 balls, while Ed Pollock added a 16 not out off of eight balls. Pat Brown has taken 12 wickets so far in the competition.

Stanley Park
In this pitch, the winning team should choose to bat first and try to keep the score close. For the opening batters, the first few overs will be difficult to negotiate, but after that, the wicket should be a scorcher for adding runs.
There will be little risk of rain and temperatures around 17 degrees Celsius. There will be moderate breezes and a humidity of 58%.
The Vitality Blast match will take place in Stanley Park in Blackpool. Although the location has small boundaries, the ground will also benefit quick bowlers.
