Hazlewood will not play again in the series against India

Hazlewood will not play again in the series against India

Before the start of the Border – Gavaskar series, it was known that Jos Hazlewood will not be able to play in the first two Tests on Indian soil. Australia has already fallen behind in his absence. India won the first two matches of the series. There is discomfort in the Australian camp. In the meantime, the team got bad news again. Hazlewood, one of the best stars in the bowling department, will not be able to play in the remaining two Tests of the series.

Hazlewood has been suffering from an Achilles injury in his left leg for several days. However, the Australian Cricket Board kept him in the team from the beginning of the series. For that reason, he also went to India with the team on time. Australia’s team management hopes to have him from the start of the series when the team is announced. But there was no improvement in his injury in due time. As a result, the star pacer did not even come down to the field.

After losing the first two matches, Australia awaited Hazlewood’s return from the third match. But that hope also turned into disappointment. Australia boss Andrew Macdonald confirmed Hazlewood’s drop. He said, “We are not getting Hazlewood for the remaining two Tests in the India series. He is not fully fit yet. He will return home very soon.”

Of course, not only this series, but Hazlewood has also been irregular in the Australia team for the past couple of years. This pacer, who has been out of the field repeatedly due to injury, has been able to play only a few matches. This time Australia is fighting without him in the India series as well. The Australian Cricket Board has not said anything about who will be taken as his replacement. They will take new bowlers for the last two Tests.

Meanwhile, Australia is not getting Pat Cummins in the third Test. After the second Test, the regular captain returned home for personal reasons. There are also multiple injury issues in the Aussie camp. Veteran opener David Warner is suffering from an elbow injury. Spinner Todd Murphy is also reported to have some injuries. For that reason, there are doubts about the performance of these cricketers in the third Test.
