Bangladesh and England met in the 1st match of the 3-match ODI series at Mirpur on March 1. In the 1st innings of the match, Bangladesh was bowled out before the end of the scheduled 50 overs with a small pack of runs.

Chasing that Score, England reached the port of victory with 3 wickets in hand. Besides, Dawid Malan won the Man of the Match title by batting brilliantly at the last moment.

After winning the toss and coming down to bat in the morning, the opener Tamim Iqbal made a great start. The way Tamim Iqbal and Nazmul Hossain Shanto started the batting, it seemed that Bangladesh’s score would surely cross 250. But Bangladesh was all out for only 209 runs after batting 47.2 overs in front of English-controlled bowling.

Tamim was stubborn from the beginning. Liton was also trying to become stubborn. But he was unlucky. This opener of the Bangladesh team got out by LBW after hitting a six. He departed with 7 runs off 15 balls.

Bangladesh was dreaming of winning even with little capital. Chasing 210 runs, the English lost 5 wickets for 103 runs. After that, Dawid Malan spent a lot of time with Moeen Ali. The match was gradually tilting towards England. At that time, England lost 7 wickets for 161 runs. But Malan kept a cool head and brought the match out of that place. They reached the port of victory with the help of his batting.

For England, Malan remained unbeaten on 114 runs off 145 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Jack scored 26 runs off 31 balls. English opener Phillip Salt scored 12 runs off 19 balls. Besides this, Moeen Ali scored 14 runs and Adil Rashid scored 17.

Taijul Islam took three wickets for Bangladesh. Miraz took 2 wickets. Besides, Shakib and Taskin took 1 wicket each.
