500 wickets in T20, Rashid’s world record

Due to this the Afghan star recently entered the elite club of 500 wicket takers. To reach this milestone of 500 wickets, Rashid had to play 371 T20 matches. So far his T20 career is 8 years old.

Dwayne Bravo entered the elite club of 500 wickets in T20 ahead of Rashid. This former West Indies pace-bowling all-rounder has taken a total of 614 wickets in 556 matches in his career. After Bravo, Rashid became the second bowler to take 500 wickets. The 24-year-old Afghan has a chance to surpass Bravo.

Rashid set another world record on the milestone day by taking 500 wickets. He also took possession of the record of being the youngest bowler in the history of T20 to take 500 wickets. Of course, that calculation is done by looking at the age and number of matches played. In that case, no bowler could take 500 wickets like Rashid at the age of 24 or in 371 matches.

Sunil Narine is third on the list of highest wicket-takers in T20. This Caribbean spinner has taken a total of 474 wickets in the short format of cricket so far. South Africa’s Imran Tahir and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan are in the top five of the list. The wicket figures of the two spinners in this format are 466 and 436 respectively.
