With the tournament just around the corner, one crucial piece of the puzzle remains – securing those coveted tickets. In this guide, we’ll break down all the essential information you need to know to get your hands on tickets for this thrilling cricket extravaganza.

First things first, it’s crucial to know when the tickets will be available for purchase. The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently announced that tickets for the 2023 World Cup will go on sale starting August 25. This date is just over 40 days before the opening match on October 5. This delay was due to the revised schedule, which had to accommodate changes in dates for nine games, including the much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.

In order to ensure fairness and accessibility for cricket fans, the ticket sales for the 2023 World Cup will be organized into several phases. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the sale dates:

August 25: Tickets for all matches that do not feature India, including warm-up games and group stage matches, will become available for purchase.

August 30: On this date, fans can secure tickets for India’s warm-up matches against England in Guwahati and the match against Netherlands/Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram, which is scheduled for October 3.

August 31: The sale will open for India’s highly anticipated World Cup matches in Chennai (where they face Australia on October 8), Delhi (against Afghanistan on October 11), and Pune (versus Bangladesh on October 19).

September 1: Tickets for India’s matches in Dharamsala (against New Zealand on October 22), Lucknow (versus England on October 29), and Mumbai (facing Sri Lanka on November 2) will be available for purchase.

September 2: Fans can start booking tickets for India’s matches in Kolkata (against South Africa on November 5) and Bengaluru (versus Netherlands on November 12).

September 3: The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan, set to take place in Ahmedabad on October 14, will open for ticket sales on this date.

September 15: The final phase of ticket sales will open, allowing fans to secure their seats for the semi-finals and the grand final.

To ensure that you’re ahead of the curve and increase your chances of securing your desired tickets, cricket enthusiasts can register their interest on the official Cricket World Cup website (https://www.cricketworldcup.com/register) starting from August 15. This is a crucial step to stay informed about ticket availability and gain exclusive insights into the ticketing process.

In a statement, Chris Tetley, ICC’s head of events, emphasized the importance of registering interest, stating, “We urge all of cricket’s hundreds of millions of fans to register their interest next week to guarantee that you’re among the first to receive updates on ticket availability and to become an integral part of the grandest Cricket World Cup.” Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of this historic event; register your interest and get ready for an unforgettable cricket experience!
