The eighth season of Pakistan’s franchise-based T20 tournament, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), started on Monday. But the accident happened on the first day of the PSL. Such a terrible incident, like a fire in the floodlight, occurred in the first match of PSL. And the video of the fire has spread through social media. It didn’t take long to go viral.

 

Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars faced each other in the first match of PSL. And at the beginning of this match, fear spread among everyone due to the fire incident. According to Pakistan media sources, the opening match in Pakistan’s Multan Stadium caught fire from fireworks. From the commoner to the athletes, serious accidents have been saved due to the immediate action taken by the fire service. Fire service personnel were able to douse the fire soon after the incident. But no casualties were reported. It is to be noted that this happened just before the toss.

 

Shaheen Afridi’s team Lahore Qalandars won by just one run in this tense match. Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans decided to chase the target after winning the toss. Lahore Qalandars batted first and gave the opponent a target of 175 runs. The maximum runs came from the bat of Fakhar Zaman of Lahore Qalandars. He scored 66 runs off 42 balls with the help of 3 fours and five sixes. Then, 32 runs off 26 balls came from Miraz Baig’s bat, another Lahore opener. Then Hussain Talat scored 20 runs off 12 balls.

 

Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans got off to a good start. In the opening pair, Mohammad Rizwan’s maximum runs came from his single bat. Seventy-five runs came from his bat from 50 balls, featured with eight boundaries and a six. Shan Masood scored 35 runs off 31 balls in partnership with him. One hundred runs came from this opening pair. Although the start was good, Zaman Khan of the opponent caused problems at the end.

 

Zaman took three wickets along with West Indies star batsman Kieron Pollard in the first four balls of the last over. But in the end, Multan Sultan played well. Needing nine runs off the previous two balls, Khushdil Shah took eight runs off two fours. But still, one run deficit remained for victory. So, in the end, Shaheen Afridi won by one run.
