Russell Domingo’s chapter in Bangladesh cricket ended a few days ago. Since then Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been searching for a head coach. However, the name that has been heard the most in the race to become the coach of the Tigers is Chandika Hathurusinghe. However, he did not minimize the drama of taking responsibility for Bangladesh. After several days of various dramas, finally ending all the speculations, this Sri Lankan has become the head coach of Bangladesh team.
Everything was fine, Hathurusingh was supposed to take charge of Bangladesh soon. But after that everything started to change, the drama started around this coach. Recently, it is known that Hathurusinghe, who is unwilling to become the coach of Bangladesh, is rather secretly holding talks with New South Wales. New news emerged, he has left the responsibility of New South Wales. Hathurusinghe has served as the assistant coach of this state team of Australia for a long time. New South Wales authorities have confirmed his resignation. Thus Hathurusingha’s visit to Bangladesh has become stronger.
New South Wales saddened by Hathurusingha’s departure. However, the team’s head of elite male cricket, Michael Klinger, wished the former coach the best of luck. Regarding Hathurusingh’s departure, he said, “He has contributed a lot to our team. We are saddened by his departure. But we understand his desire to work at the international level. We wish him all the best in his career. May his new journey be successful. Hope he can bring success to Bangladesh as well.” .”
Meanwhile, ESPNcricinfo, a cricket-based media, reported that Hathurusinghe left the role of New South Wales after becoming the coach of the Bangladesh national team. In that case, he can perform the duties of the ODI and Test teams of the Tigers. Earlier, however, this Sri Lankan coached Bangladesh in all three formats. Under which Bangladesh has also achieved significant success.
Now times have changed, Bangladesh is also moving forward following the modernization of cricket. Recently, Bangladesh got success by appointing Sreedharan Sreeram as technical coach for T20 format. Because of this, BCB wants to put the responsibility of the T20 team on his shoulders. In that case, if Sriram is in charge of the T20, Hathurusinghe is going to be the coach of the Tigers in the other two formats.
