However, the ICC proposal does not mean that cricket will be in the 2028 Olympics. Have to wait some time. It will be known only after the official inclusion by the Olympic Committee, whether there will be a cricket competition in Los Angeles! The Olympic Committee will hold a meeting in March to discuss the inclusion of new sports. After the final meeting in October, the new decision will be known.
Meanwhile, six teams have been proposed to play T20 in the Olympics, based on the advice and popularity of the Olympic Committee. ICC has also formed a strong committee to look after the matter. The committee includes ICC president Greg Barkley, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, independent director Indra Nooyi and former USA Cricket Board president Parag Marathe. Basically ICC wants to include cricket in Olympics to spread cricket more globally.
Note that if cricket is finally included in this highly anticipated Olympics, there will be an opportunity to compete in front of the top 6 ranked teams. Because, the ICC and Olympic Committee will provide the opportunity to play according to the ranking. And in this rule, countries like India, Australia, England, New Zealand or Pakistan are more likely to play. But everything will have to wait for a few more days. Cricket can be seen in the Olympics only if the Olympic Committee gives the green signal.
