This score now stands as the highest in the history of ODI World Cup matches, surpassing Australia’s 417/6 against Afghanistan in 2015.

This remarkable achievement makes it the highest successful run-chase in ODI World Cup history, eclipsing Ireland’s chase of 329 against England in 2011.

Losing their opening match to India and following it up with another defeat against South Africa marked their first consecutive losses at the start of a Cricket World Cup campaign since 1992. The 132-run defeat to South Africa was also Australia’s heaviest in terms of runs at a Men’s Cricket World Cup.
