The opening match of the season between Fotune Barishal and Rangpur Riders will take place in Dhaka. Although Barishal defeated the Riders in both of its head-to-head games during the league stage last year, the team fell in the Eliminator, which was the most important game.
The former Fortune Barishal captain joined Rangpur Riders this year, marking one of the major personnel changes on both sides. Part of the Riders’ core bowling group from the previous campaign is gone. It will be intriguing to watch how the Rangpur Riders balance their bowling department. On the other side, Fortune Barishal has bolstered its batting unit by adding a few seasoned T20 players from throughout the globe.

The Riders released the other four wicket-keeper batsmen, including Sam Billings and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, but kept Nurul Hasan and Nicholas Pooran. The removal of all the specialty batters and the addition of only Brandon King and Babar Azam represented another significant personnel change. It was a wise decision. These two athletes are very skilled and capable of putting on a memorable show at the highest level.
Matheesha Pathirana will be someone to keep an eye on in the bowling attack. Under MS Dhoni’s guidance, he participated in the IPL and developed as a player. One other gem from Sri Lanka that you can count on to take wickets in the middle overs is Wanindu Hasaranga. He is also an excellent batsman. All-round players like Rony Talukdar, Shamim Hossain, and Shakib Al Hasan, of course, will probably be in the middle order.
