Guyana Amazon Warriors suffered a 7-wicket defeat to Saint Lucia Kings. At Providence Stadium, they scored 167-5 after batting first. That wasn’t enough, as Lucia Kings reached the mark in 17.3 overs. It was Guyana’s first loss of the season, so they weren’t too concerned.

Trinbago would also be pleased that Andre Russell received some much-needed running time in the last encounter. The hard-hitting all-rounder has struggled for runs this season, but he smashed an unbeaten 29 runs off just 13 balls in the chase against Saint Lucia. If Russell starts to play well, Trinbago will be even more dangerous in the playoffs.
Russell’s bowling, on the other hand, has been extremely effective. He is the team’s highest wicket-taker this season, with 11 scalps at an economy of 8.76. Sunil Narine has been as cunning as ever. At 7.20, the deft off-spinner claimed 10 wickets in 8 innings. His four overs might very well determine the match.
