In the third Twenty20 International at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Australia pulled off an unexpected last-ball victory thanks to a stunning display by Glen Maxwell and some incredibly bad bowling by India. India now leads the series 2-1. The teams will play again on Friday at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, with the home team hoping to win the series 3-1. But with their current level of confidence, Australia will exert every effort to make the score 2-2.
In the third T20I, India batted admirably to score a massive total of 222-3. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the opener, showed to be an absolute superstar, smashing an undefeated 123 off just 57 balls. The amount, however, was insufficient as India’s woeful fast bowlers, particularly Prasidh Krishna (0-68 from 4 overs) and Arshdeep Singh (1-44 from 4 overs), were carried all over the park.
Despite their bowling difficulties, India still has a rather good batting lineup. Aside from Ruturaj, Yashasvi Jaiswal (311 runs in the last 10 matches at an average of 39 and a strike rate of 172) should be on your radar. Captain Suryakumar Yadav is the top T20I batter in the world, and we anticipate him to deliver a big knock in this game. Shreyas Iyer will rejoin the team for the final two games, providing some solidity to the middle order. He is expected to replace Tilak Varma in the starting lineup.
For the past two games, India’s bowling squad has been strengthened with the addition of Deepak Chahar. Chahar recently had a successful Syed Mushtaq Ali (T20) Trophy for Rajasthan, taking 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.38 in 5 games. He had a strike rate of 171.79 while using the bat, scoring 67 runs off of 39 balls. His arrival will provide some equilibrium to the rapid bowling team.
Despite receiving little assistance from the wickets, the spinners, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel, are doing an excellent job.
In the third Twenty20 International, Glenn Maxwell’s explosive 104 off 48 balls helped Australia chase down a big total of 223. But Maxwell is back home now, as are Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis, Marcus Stoinis, Steven Smith, and Adam Zampa. For the final two games, the roster has been expanded to include Josh Philippe, Ben McDermott, Chris Green, and Ben Dwarshuis in lieu of them.
This batting attack will now be led by the excellent Travis Head. Head, who has been playing at an incredible level lately, will be hoping to capitalize on this flat surface and the lackluster Indian bowling attack. With a 134-strike rate in the T20 format, Josh Philippe is an interesting batsman. This track should be fun for him to bat on.
Tim David and Matthew Wade are two batters to keep an eye on. Wade impressed with his 16-ball 28 in the previous match, and David is one of the hardest hitters in world cricket. Jason Behrendorff was Australia’s standout bowler in the third T20I, with statistics of 1-12 from 4 overs. He appears to be in fine form and will pose another challenge to the Indian batsmen.

Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur
The chasing team has won 16 of the 29 Twenty20 matches held at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. Given how important dew was to this series in the second innings, it’s highly likely that the captain who won the toss will field here. The evening weather in Raipur is forecast to be hazy and cool.
The venue is noted for its sporty wicket, which benefits both batters and bowlers. The seam bowlers have some bounce and movement early on, while the spinners have some grip later. Early on, batters may find it difficult. However, if dew falls heavily while they are chasing, things may become easier.
