Preparations are underway at Visakhapatnam’s Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium for the second Test between India and England, which begins on February 2. India’s struggle to turn around the series grew stronger when, despite seeming like they would win the first Test, they lost by just 28 runs. Because of their resoluteness in the face of defeat, England is in a favorable position to influence the course of the series from the outset.
There were highs and lows in the Indian batting lineup during the first Test match in Hyderabad. They scored 436 runs in the first innings with some notable 80s from Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, but they collapsed quickly in the second innings as their performance declined. On the first day, however, the Indian bowlers did a fantastic job, limiting England to just under 246 runs.
In the first Test match, England had a rough start in Hyderabad, but they pulled off an amazing comeback led by Ollie Pope’s brilliant 196 in the second innings. This paved the way for a 231-run comeback from a 190-run hole. The English bowlers made amends for their earlier bowling mishaps by dismissing India for 212 runs to win the Test, with Tom Hartley, making his debut, taking 7-59. Hartley, who finished the game with 57 runs, has the potential to be England’s series-defining player.
IND vs ENG Team Preview & Squads
India
The fact that KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja will not be playing in the second Test because of separate ailments only serves to worsen the situation for India. In place of Rahul, Rajat Patidar is probably going to make his debut, and Kuldeep Yadav is going to replace Jadeja.
India’s batting attack will depend heavily on Rohit Sharma. He has been giving good starts, but he hasn’t finished them off well. We believe he would work well in this role. There would be pressure on Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer to deliver as they have appeared unprofessional. We also believe that Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored an incredible 80 runs in the opening Test innings, would perform well at bat in this game.
Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin are anticipated to capture the most of the wickets in the bowling department. They will be able to confront England’s hitters on this pitch.
Joe Root isn’t just concentrating on his batting; he’s also honing his craft to become a more reliable spin bowler, especially on conditions that encourage spin. His batting form has been questionable, as he has only scored 31 runs in both innings, despite capturing five wickets in the first encounter. This is not the average decline in performance for a player with more than 11,000 runs. We do anticipate that he will perform better at bat in this game, though.
Ben Stokes, our captain, is also expected to deliver another crushing blow. Even though he won’t be bowling in this series, one of their top hitters is Ben Stokes. He scored a crucial 70 runs in the opening innings of the last Test to enable England to surpass 200 runs.
Owing to an injury he received in the first Test, Jack Leach will not be participating in this one. This presents an opportunity for Somerset’s right-arm off-break bowler Shoaib Bashir.
Rehan Ahmed’s 41 runs and two wickets in the most recent game demonstrated that, despite his lackluster performance, he can drastically alter the course of the English cricket team. Enhancing his bowling and hitting skills could significantly increase the team’s overall performance.

Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam
The Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam has hosted just two Test matches, both of which were won by the team that batted first. It is reasonable to assume that the side that wins this Test will choose to bat first.
Throughout the five days of the Test, Visakhapatnam will see hazy, humid, and scorching weather. We should have a whole game because there is virtually little danger of rain. Like most Indian Test grounds, the wickets of the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium usually offer favorable conditions for batters early on, before spinners come into play.
