The 17th Match of ILT20 season 2 will showcase Dubai Capitals against Desert Vipers. The game is scheduled to take place on February 1 at 8:00 PM IST at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. In the competition, Dubai Capitals have been extremely hot and cold. In the five games the team has played, it has won two and lost three. In the previous game, the team lost badly to Sharjah Warriors, losing by nine wickets. The Warriors reached the goal in just the 14th over after the Capitals were bowled out for 104.
Desert Vipers have also proven erratic in the interim. In its five games thus far, the team has won two and lost three. But in the final game, the Vipers prevailed over MI Emirates. The team lost eight wickets while chasing 150 runs, and they won the match on the final ball of play, thus it was not a particularly convincing victory.
Dubai Capitals vs Desert Vipers Team Preview & Squads
Dubai Capitals
ILT20 by David Warner hasn’t yet taken off this season. Despite being billed as one of the league’s stars, Warner has had an incredibly poor tournament, scoring just 21 runs at his best in 5 innings (58% strikeout percentage). The Caribbean player Rovman Powell, who hits hard, is also having trouble with the bat. In 5 innings, he has scored 30 runs.
The inconsistency of Rahmanullah Gurbaz up top and the impressive one-down batter Jake Fraser McGurk’s return to Australia after being called up to the national team have made the Capitals’ batting problems worse. Fortunately for the Caps, Sam Billings and Sikandar Raza, the other two batsmen who have scored over 100 runs for the team this season, find themselves carrying much of the scoring. Ben Dunk, who took over for Jake Fraser McGurk at number three, hasn’t had any effect and appears to be a worn-out player.
The Capitals had moments of strong bowling. Warner’s preferred bowler is Dushmantha Chameera, who has taken seven wickets in five games thus far. Sikandar Raza has made a substantial impact with the ball in hand as well, taking five wickets in five games at a fantastic 5.43 economy rate. Although Roelof Van Der Merwe has been performing well, occasionally he leaks runs. Jason Holder and Akif Raja, the Capitals’ medium-fast bowlers, must contribute with wickets or use tight bowling to hold an end to an innings.

Desert Vipers
The Vipers’ difficult season thus far is highlighted by their three losses in their last four games, and it is not surprising that they finish last in the points standings. Their first defeat came at the hands of the Knight Riders, as the Vipers batsmen battled to finish with a low score that left the bowling unit with very little to defend.
The next game was against the defending champion Gulf Giants, but they were well-prepared and adjusted with the bat and ball to win a vital game. However, they were unable to add another victory to their record when they lost to the Knight Riders, who easily chased a low total against the Vipers for the second time in a short period. The Vipers were in the hunt throughout the majority of the chase but lost their following match against the Sharjah Warriors by a margin of only 7 runs. In the end, 16 runs off the final over proved to be a bit too much, as Jawadaullah Khan, the Warriors bowler, used excellent death-bowling techniques to contain it.
Although the majority of the Vipers’ batsmen are in reasonable form, they haven’t been able to turn their starts into anything meaningful. Adam Hose is one of the runners, albeit he would like a quicker pace. Shaheen Afridi, a pacer, and Hasaranga, a spinner, are leading the way in bowling. This season, Luke Wood had an outstanding debut, taking three wickets in four overs for 33 runs. It is anticipated that he will also start the upcoming games.

Given the dew, captains have always favored bowling after winning the toss. It is nearly a given that the captain who wins the toss would bowl first because the Capitals attempted to bat first in the previous game but were soundly defeated.
Although it happens infrequently, rain is a possibility in Dubai on match day. There is a 75% chance of precipitation. There will be a 21–25 degree temperature range. The bowlers have very little to gain from the pitch. The ball skids off the surface due to dew, which makes it easier for batters to hit even if it is a little slower than usual. Perhaps we’re in for another thrilling match.
