B-Love Kandy wants to have a successful start to the LPL season. The team, formerly known as the Kandy Falcons, had a strong run in the previous season, winning seven out of eight league contests. However, the group was eliminated from contention after losing to Colombo Strikers in Qualifier 2 and Jaffna Kings in Qualifier 1 respectively. The team has strengthened its roster and appears poised to claim its first championship. Wanindu Hasaranga, an all-around player, will serve as the team’s captain. Other notable local players on the roster include Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, and Dushmanta Chameera. The team gets some international firepower from Fakhar Zaman and Mujeeb ur Rahman. 

Despite a fantastic season the previous year, Kandy was unable to advance to the championship game. B-Love Kandy is among the favorites to win the LPL 2023 because they have a number of match-winners on their side. The availability of Fakhar Zaman, who is a member of Global T20 Canada, is in question. Suresh Raina is reportedly also a member of the team, but we are unsure of his availability.

Colombo Strikers’ LPL campaign did not get off to a fantastic start after they lost to Jaffna Kings in the first game of the league.  On a difficult track, the squad gave up 173 runs before crumbling and being bowled out for 152. The squad boasts one of the greatest teams for batting, so superstars like Babar Azam and Pathum Nissanka need to shine. The only hitter to perform effectively against Galle was Niroshan Dickwella, who finished with a magnificent 58 off 34.

The Colombo Strikers were severely defeated in the opening contest. Babar Azam and Niroshan Dickwella are two seasoned players on the team who should keep the group upbeat. The Strikers are a formidable team that is capable of making a great comeback in the following game. As a result of their obligations to the Major League Cricket and the Canada T20 League, respectively, Chris Lynn and David Miller are still not expected to be available. The only players that can get a game are Iftikhar Ahmed and Angelo Perera.
