After that, Buttler and Samson made a big partnership of 138 runs from 80 balls in the 2nd wicket. However, being only 5 runs away from the century, Buttler returned to the pavilion through lbw by pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His innings of 95 off 59 balls had 10 fours and 4 sixes. This is the third-highest run-chase win in IPL history and the highest by Sunrisers.
Yuzvendra Chahal took the maximum of 4 wickets for RR with 29 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldip Yadav took 1 wicket each. However, the Royals suffered a big blow to reach the knockout phase with this loss. They are now placed 4th in the points table.
