Bengaluru chooses to bat first after winning the toss. As usual, the team got off to a strong start thanks to Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. On a sluggish pitch, they scored 62 runs between them off 54 balls. As Kohli returned after scoring 31 from 30 balls with the help of three fours, Bengaluru began to lose wickets.

 

Anuj Rawat left the field with 9 runs off 11 balls. Glenn Maxwell returned to the dressing room with 4 runs in the LBW trap. Suyash Prabhudessai scored only 6 runs in 7 balls. Dinesh Karthik scored 16 runs off 11 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Mahipal scored 3 runs. Karn Sharma left the field after being caught out for 2 runs and Mohammed Siraj hit a golden duck.

 

Du Plessis, though, managed to hold out until the 17th over. He was out after 40 balls for 44. Moreover, he made a four and a six. Wanindu Hasranga was also undefeated through 8 runs. Then, Bangalore eventually declared at 126 runs for 9 wickets. 

 

Legspinners Amit Mishra and Ravi Bishnoi each got two wickets for the Lucknow Super Giants, while pacer Naveen claimed three wickets. As well, Krishnappa Gowtham claimed one wicket.

 

In response to the target of 127 runs, Lucknow lost 5 wickets for 38 runs and fell out of the match. Kyle Myers was the first to hit a golden duck. Then Krunal Pandya left the field with 14 runs off 11 balls with the help of 3 fours. Ayush Badoni returned to the dressing room after being caught out for only 4 runs after playing 11 balls. Deepak Hooda scored 1 run from 2 balls and Nicholas Pooran left the field with 9 runs from 7 balls.

 

From there, Krishnappa Gowtham scored 23 runs off 13 balls, which was only a little storm. He also made two sixes and one four. But because of how bowling-friendly the surface was, the others were unable to benefit. Marcus Stoinis scored only 13 runs off 19 balls. Ravi Bishnoi scored 5 runs off 10 balls. Amit Mishra scored 19 runs off 30 balls while playing Test cricket. Besides, Naveen-ul-Haq scored 13 runs from 13 balls. In the end, Lucknow was all out with one ball left of the innings.

 

Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma took two wickets each. Besides, Mohammad Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasranga, and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.
