Cricket Highlights, 10 Oct: ICC Cricket World Cup (7th Match) – England vs Bangladesh – Bangladesh lost by a wide margin due to their terrible batting performance.

England vs Bangladesh (7th Match) – Highlights

At one time, England appeared to be able to easily pass the 400 runs mark. At the end of 40 overs, England were at 298 for 3 wickets. After that, they only managed to post a total of 66 runs after losing 6 wickets in the last 10 overs with controlled bowling of the tigers. Eventually, at 364 for 9 wickets, England’s innings was declared over. So, Bangladesh must therefore surpass a challenging 365-run mark in order to triumph.

At the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium in Dharamshala, Tiger captain Shakib Al Hasan invited England to bat first after winning the toss.

Bowling first, Shakib launched the assault from both ends quickly. 15 runs were given up in the opening four overs by Mostafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed. But then, Dawid Malan opened his hand in the fifth over.

As a result, Tiger Bowler was unable to act. Finally, Shakib broke the team’s opening partnership of 115 runs in the 18th over of the innings. The Tiger captain bowled Bairstow with a terrific delivery, who made 52 runs off 59 balls while hitting eight boundaries.

However, the English made another big pair in the second wicket. Joe Root and Malan scored 151 runs off 117 balls. Malan scored a century off 93 balls. Finally, Sheikh Mehdi broke this pair by returning Malan. 140 runs off 107 balls. 16 fours with 5 sixes. Dawid Malan’s career has never seen such a day.

Jos Buttler was then caught out by Shoriful Islam in the 39th over. The English skipper made a little storm by conceding 20 runs in only 10 balls.

Shariful also created a hat-trick opportunity in his next over. He dismissed Joe Root and Liam Livingstone with two balls in a row. Root hit 8 fours and a six in an innings of 82 runs off 68 balls.

Then Harry Brook (20 from 15), Sam Curran (11 from 15), and Adil Rashid (7 from 11) were stopped by Mahedi. While Taskin dismissed Chris Woakes (11 off 14).

Mahedi took 4 wickets with 71 runs in 8 overs. Shoriful took 3 wickets for 75 runs in 10 overs. Taskin took one and Shakib took one wicket.

A lofty goal of 365 runs. Loss for Bangladesh was all but guaranteed. It was an established fact that England would win this game barring a superhuman event. In that situation, it was up to everyone to judge how far Bangladesh could bat. Everyone anticipated the Tiger batters to have a strong at-bat, even if they lost.

However, nobody’s bat could speak against the English bowlers besides Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Towhid Hridoy. Bangladesh was eventually dismissed for 227 runs in 48.2 overs, and England triumphed by a large margin of 137 runs.

Chasing a daunting target of 365 runs, Bangladesh lost 3 wickets for 26 runs. Then lost the 4th wicket for 49 runs.

After losing 4 of the best batsmen within 49 runs, there was concern that Bangladesh would have to lose by a big margin. However, opener Liton Das continued to bat at one end despite losing 4 consecutive wickets. Experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim helped Bangladesh turn around by forming a pair with him.

But even though Liton bounced back from the disaster with brilliant batting, he suddenly lost his wicket. A respectable innings ended with that. He played a great innings of 77 runs off 66 balls. Litton hit 7 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Then Mushfiq and Towhid Hridoy tied the pair. A pair of 43 runs was formed with the bat of the two. Mushfiq also scored a half-century. He got out for 51 off 64 balls. Towhid Hridoy also gave a decent innings. He scored 39 runs off 61 balls.

Mahedi Hasan got out after scoring 14 runs. Taskin Ahmed scored 15 runs. Shoriful Islam was dismissed for 12 runs. Mustafiz remained unbeaten on 3 runs. Bangladesh’s innings ended with 227 runs as Taskin got out as the last batsman.

English pacer Reece Topley took 4 wickets. Chris Woakes took 2 wickets and Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, and Liam Livingstone took 1 wicket each.
