India is unstoppable in the World Cup at home. The hosts have not lost to any team in the tournament so far. Not only that, Rohit Sharma’s team did not give any team a chance to compete. The picture is also the same for the Netherlands. India beat the Dutch by a big margin in the group stage.
India beat the Netherlands by 160 runs in the last match of the group stage on Sunday (November 12). With this win, Rohit-Kohli finished the group stage unbeaten.
Batting first against the Dutch, India put up a massive total of 410 runs. In response, Netherlands were bowled out for 250 runs. With that, the Netherlands missed the chance to get in the Champions Trophy for the first time. On the other hand, Bangladesh’s place in the 2025 Champions Trophy was confirmed by the defeat of the Dutch.
The Netherlands lost the wicket of Wesley Barresi early on, to chase the daunting target set by India. Colin Ackermann and Max O’Dowd tried to put up some resistance in the second wicket. However, when Ackermann returned with 35 runs off Kuldeep, the Dutch lost their rhythm again. Then, O’Dowd (30) returned after one over.
After that, the Netherlands lost wickets at regular intervals. Sybrand Engelbrecht also failed to catch up. He returned with 45 runs. Virat Kohli brought back Dutch captain Scott Edwards. Teja Nidamanuru (54) fought alone in the end. The Dutch’s innings ended when he returned after Rohit Sharma’s half-century.
India got off to a great start by winning the toss and batting. Along with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill batted aggressively from the start. At the end of the powerplay, India’s runs stood at 91 without losing any wickets.
India lost the first wicket at the team’s 100 runs. Gill made 51 runs from 32 balls and took the path to the dressing room. Rohit Sharma also got a half-century. After scoring 64 runs off 54 balls, he returned to the dressing room after becoming a victim of Bas de Leede.
Virat Kohli picked up a fifty by maintaining the consistency of form. However, this batting sensation returned with 51 runs after reaching his half-century. Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul formed a big partnership for the fourth wicket. Both added 208 runs to the team’s total.
Iyer brought up the fourth century of ODI career. He was unbeaten at the end by scoring 128 runs off 94 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes. On the other hand, Lokesh Rahul scored 102 runs off 64 balls and got out in the last over.

Result – India won by 160 runs
