Seattle Orcas vs Washington Freedom (Match 3) – Highlights

Seattle Orcas and Washington Freedom faced each other in the 3rd match of Major League Cricket starting this year. Batting first in that match, Washington Freedom set a moderate target in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing that target, Seattle Orcas reached the target before the end of the allotted 20 overs. As a result, Washington Freedom had to leave the field with a loss of 5 wickets. On the other hand, Imad Wasim won the man-of-the-match title for Seattle Orcas with good batting and bowling.

The Seattle Orcas captain won the toss and elected to bowl first and invited Washington Freedom to bat. Batting first, Washington Freedom’s openers could not get off to a good start. They lost 3 wickets for the team’s 45 runs. Matthew Short who scored 2 runs from 3 balls left the field first. After that, Mukhtar Ahmed returned to the dressing room after getting 5 runs in 5 balls after falling into the LBW trap. Glenn Phillips came in for the 3rd wicket. Even though he was on the field for quite some time, he also left the field after scoring 20 runs off 13 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six.

Andries Gous and Captain Moises Henriques then took the team’s run to 89 runs. But then Andries Gous had to be caught out and left the field. He scored 28 off 33 balls with 3 fours before getting out. Then Captain Moises Henriques also left the field in the next ball which was a surprise to everyone. He scored 24 runs off 19 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six.

Marco Jansen left the field with 100 runs for the team. He scored 8 runs off 7 balls with the help of 1 four. In the end, Obus Pienaar was caught out in the 18th over. He scored only 10 runs off 14 balls. Besides, Akeal Hossain scored the most runs for them. He scored 33 runs off 22 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. He was also undefeated. On the other hand, Dane Piedt was unbeaten on 3 runs. In the end, their innings stopped at 144 runs for 7 wickets with 11 extra runs.

Wayne Parnell and Harmeet Singh took 2 wickets each for Seattle Orcas. Besides, Imad Wasim, Cameron Gannon, and Andrew Tye took 1 wicket each.

Set to bat for a target of 145 runs, Seattle Orcas reached the target with 2 balls and 5 wickets in hand. They didn’t get off to a good start when they came out to bat in the 2nd innings. They lost 3 wickets for the team’s 43 runs. With the help of 1 four and 1 six, wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock left the field with 10 runs from 11 balls. Shehan Jayasuriya scored only 6 runs off 8 balls. Heinrich Klaasen left the field for 1 run after playing 3 balls.

Although wickets were falling from one side, Nauman Anwar was standing right on the other side. But he also left the field with the last ball of the 14th over. He scored 48 runs off 37 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes before leaving the field. Then Imad Wasim and Shimron Hetmyer combined to take the team’s run to 140 runs. Just then, Shimron Hetmeyer left the field after being bowled out. Scored 23 runs off 19 balls with the help of 1 four and six.

Besides, Imad Wasim was unbeaten on 43 runs from 38 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six and Shubham Ranjane was unbeaten on 8 runs. In the end, their innings stopped at 148 runs with 9 extra runs.
