BAN vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights In a thrilling Test match, BAN triumphed over the WI by 101 runs in the second Test
South Africa did not get any attention from India in the first ODI. Lost by a big margin of 8 wickets. But in the second ODI, the Proteas took revenge.
South Africa beat India by exactly 8 wickets in Gqeberha. The host team has returned in the three-match series 1-1 with this victory where they had 45 balls in hand.
The bowlers did half the work. South Africa’s target of victory was only 212 runs. Reeza Hendricks and Tony De Georgi scored 130 runs in the opening pair. Hendricks returned to the dressing room with a 52.
Rassie van der Dussen was out for a personal 36, with South Africa just 6 runs away from victory. Tony de Zorzi remained unbeaten with his first career century. The left-handed batsman hit 9 fours and 6 sixes in a sparkling innings of 112 runs off 122 balls.
Earlier, the hosts bowled out India for just 211 runs in this tie-breaking match. Losing the toss and batting, India did not get off to a good start. The visitors lost the first wicket after only 4 runs.
Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad returned with a LBW off Nandre Burger for 4 runs off 2 balls. Tilak Verma, who dropped to three, did not last long either. Trying to settle down, he got out for 10 off 30 balls.
Then captain Lokesh Rahul and opener Sai Sudarshan took the lead of the team. Both of them amassed a fifty by playing carefully. Sudarshan’s fifty was a bit slow but he acted as a keeper to save the team’s honor on the day. This Indian opener scored 62 runs off 83 balls (7 fours and 1 six).
Rahul played an innings of 56 runs off 64 balls. He arranged the innings with seven fours. The right-handed batsman became Nandre Burger’s second victim after being caught by Miller. India gets a respectable score mainly based on these two batsmen.
Besides, Rinku Singh scored 17 runs off 14 balls. In the end, Arshdeep Singh added 18 runs to the team’s scorecard. In the end, India was bowled out for 211 runs in 46.2 overs.
Left-handed pacer Nandre Burger took 3 wickets for South Africa. Keshav Maharaj and Beuran Hendricks both claimed two wickets.
