With Virat Kohli at 97 and undefeated, India only needs 2 runs to win. India won the game a long time ago. But the question was, Will Kohli, be able to score the 48th century of his ODI career? the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune remained silent.

Shreyas Iyer was set all but got out. In 25 balls, he scored 19 runs. Virat Kohli’s century helped India easily to win after losing the third wicket for 178 runs. With 6 fours and 4 sixes, he scored 103 runs off 97 balls, Kohli was still undefeated. Besides, KL Rahul was also undefeated for 34 runs off 34 balls.

 

Prior to this, Bangladesh relied on Mahmudullah’s late storm to amass 256 runs for 8 wickets. Bangladesh got off to a fast start in Pune as they came to bat thanks to two openers, Liton Das and TanZid Hasan Tamim. In the first 10 overs, Tamim and Liton Das amassed 63 runs without losing a wicket.

 

After defeating the Indian bowlers, Tanzid Hasan Tamim struck a half-century in just 41 balls. In addition, he hit 5 boundaries and 3 sixes. After reaching a brilliant fifty, he was forced to return as the victim of a leg-before-wicket by Kuldeep Yadav. Tamim’s bat produced 51 runs in 43 balls.

 

Shanto could not perform the duties of the captain after that. After scoring 8 runs off 17 balls, he was defeated by Ravindra Jadeja’s spin and got out. Fourth-placed Mehidy Hasan Miraz likewise failed after being promoted. He needed 13 balls to score 3 runs. 3 wickets were lost by Bangladesh for 129 runs.

 

After that, Liton Das returned to the dressing room after fifty. He scored 66 runs off 82 balls with 7 boundaries. At 137 runs they lost 4 wickets.

From there, Mushfiqur Rahim made a partnership of 42 runs from 58 balls with Towhid Hridoy. However, Mushfiqur’s contribution was main in this pair. Hridoy batted very slowly. When he was set by batting slowly, Hridoy gave the wickets to India. This right-handed batsman was the victim of Shardul Thakur after scoring 16 runs off 35 balls.

 

Mushfiqur Rahim returns with a great catch by Jadeja. Jadeja took a hawk-like catch after jumping on Bumrah’s ball. Mushfiqur’s innings of 38 runs from 46 balls included a four-six each.

Nasum Ahmed gave Mahmudullah good company at the end with 14 from 18 balls. And Shariful Islam hit a six in the last ball of the innings (3 balls 7). Besides Mahmudullah scored 46 off 36 balls.

 

India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.
